Hen House Salon

I've seen a few different stylists at rh Hen House Salon and have been happy with the experience. This was my first haircut with Dani Alvarez. I asked for an undercut bob. The bob was fine, although I couldn't tell when I was in the salon because Dani did not dry my hair and did not show me the back. The undercut was awful - ill-defined line, patches of hair of various lengths, and a bald spot over one ear. After I got home I sent Dani a picture of the bald spot and asked when she would be able to fix it - no response. This was the worst experience I've ever had with a stylist - I would not recommend Dani Alvarez - and I will not be returning to the Hen House Salon.

I have been a client of Danielle Alvarez for over 15 years and she is the best! She has taken me from brunette to blonde to red and back. I am super picky about my hair and always trust her skills! Plus she is super sweet and easy to talk to.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Katy Jackson Marks at The Hen House, and I can confidently say that I will never look back. I’m new to the area, having just moved here from out of state, and was unsure what to expect from a new stylist. From the moment I sat down, Katy made me feel completely at ease in the cozy, clean, and quaint salon. The environment is warm, welcoming, and truly focused on one-on-one customer care, which made my experience even more special. My natural hair color is light brown, but I usually opt to blend in some blonde to brighten things up. I’ve been getting my hair done for decades, and I've struggled to find someone who truly listens to my needs. I have a lot of white and gray hair coming in, and I’ve asked my previous stylists to work with me on blending and melting the gray without compromising the integrity of my hair. Katy did exactly that—and more—on the first visit! She not only listened attentively to what I wanted but also worked her magic to achieve a beautiful, natural look that I’ve been trying to get for years. Katy’s skill and attention to detail exceeded my expectations. I’m thrilled with the result and feel like I’ve finally found my stylist. If you're new to the area or looking for someone who really knows their craft, I highly recommend Katy. She is phenomenal, and I’m incredibly pleased with my hair!

So so so happy to have discovered Hen House! I've been told for years how great it was and finally got the opportunity to check it out. Jamie was incredible and brought my very dry and brittle hair back to life! I began getting comments on how healthy it looked right from leaving the salon. She's clearly a magician. The salon itself is adorable. Everyone was incredibly warm and there was just a good feel there. So excited to have found my new salon!!

Alyssa transformed me from ordinary to sassy with a side of spice!! She listened to me when I asked to go from long to short hair and communicated throughout the process. Incredible customer service and a perfect cut & color!! I’m so grateful ☺️

Lex was my stylist and she was great. I don’t get my hair cut as much as I should because I’m just always so busy. My hair was in dire need and she cut it exactly how I wanted and looks so cute and healthy. She was friendly and easy to communicate with and also not too chatty. I was very tired and I felt so comfortable that I almost fell asleep. I will be going to see her again!

Love this salon! Alyssa has been my hair stylist from the time I moved up to Napa and I’m so happy I found her. She does my color and makes my blonde look so natural. It’s the first time I can say it doesn’t begin to turn orange over time. Ha! She is so good with color and cuts. So appreciative of her.
