After coming here for the past three years from time to time, it took me a while to figure out what exactly it was I wanted to say, as each visit was different from my last experience. I will say that whenever I would come, I was usually satisfied with my haircut. However, sometimes, Melody would be friendly and cut my hair with no problems. Other times, not so much. Melody had already shown me some attitude in the past, including my second visit in 2022 where I was unhappy with my haircut and wanted it fixed (and she raised her voice at me rather than listen to me, which put a lot of pressure on me). Not wanting to cause any problems or be impolite, I tried as hard as I can to cooperate with her. My most recent experience was unpleasant and let me know to not come back. Not only was Melody very unfriendly the second I walked in, but throughout the haircut she was rudely criticizing me for never tipping in the past as if it was 100% mandatory (despite the fact that she was the one who would set the price on the pin pad and until the recent visit, I was given the option to do it myself and gave a $10 tip anyways just to make her happy) and seemed to be very inconvenienced that I come into the shop with long hair and wanting to get my hair cut short (which is literally the point of a haircut). This was all after I had a visit from last year, where I still paid the full price of a haircut despite one of my experiences including her cutting my ear and trying hard not to complain about it, or barter with lowering the price because of that. And for some reason, I was the one being attacked (as if I'm the reason behind the financial struggle). Melody also told me that she can't charge me via card unless I add a tip. This would've been nice to know if she had told me when I called to set up the appointment, rather than telling me after I already arrived. Seeing other negative reviews for this business, I can also see that they are unhappy with criticism and tend to try to explain why they were right and the customer is wrong. In summary, while they have decent experience styling hair and cutting hair, it isn't worth it with the way they treat customers. A poor attitude towards customers is not the way to go. Thank you for the haircuts, but I've had enough of the rudeness.

I came to get a haircut for the first time. Melody did an amazing job with my hair. Will come again.

Completely wasted my time I called in to make an appointment, and they didn’t take my info down, only said "it’s okay, we have your number." I showed up right on time for my appointment at 3:30pm but they took another customer who walked in right before me (literally held the door for me as we walked in) After 10 mins I asked if they had another stylist and they said no sorry, please wait - as they both started on their customers. After waiting 30 mins and looking at all the other similar 1-star reviews, I went to another shop down the road. Tip for May Salon: use an appointment tool like "Square Appointments" or "Mangomint" to stay organized and not waste people’s time. Thanks

I went to this place for a full head perm. May, although seemingly experienced, did not pay attention to some details. The perm resulted in unnatural angles near the hair roots, and some hair was curled incorrectly, leading to frizz. Additionally, my hair quality has deteriorated since the treatment. During the perm, there was an accidental spill of the perm solution on my face. Overall, the experience and the results were not as hoped.

Absolutely amazing salon service. I scheduled an appointment with May for the first time ever. Never went to a salon before and was relatively new. May is extremely welcoming and understanding. I got a perm done with a wolf cut styling. I have to say she did a phenomenal job and I’m well impressed with how it turned out. Especially since it’s something new and out of my comfort zone, I’m glad I trusted her to do it. Will definitely come back! Well worth every $.

It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to say in this review. On one hand, May and Melody were so kind, and were very sweet. On the other, my hair didn't turn out the best. I went in to get a touch up on my balayage. I confirmed with them that they do dye hair, and when I was there, I showed them some reference pictures of balayage hair that I wanted (black to blonde/lighter hair). I'm not sure they knew what I was asking for, but I blamed that also on my inability to speak Mandarin. They still went ahead and tried, which is great! However, all they did was bleach my hair. At one point, they sprayed water? Some kind of solution? I'm not sure to be honest. Onto my hair, and kept wiping it with a towel. I could hear them squeeze out the bleach/solution mixture. This was only my second time dying my hair at a salon, so, naturally, I trusted them. I wasn't sure what the process was, maybe this was correct? After they were done with the bleach, they washed my hair, and that was it. There wasn't any kind of toning or making things more balanced with the bleach--that was literally all they did. I attached two pictures, one from my front and back. From the front, it looked okay, but from the back, you can see where the different sections of bleach were added on. While I was there, multiple people did come in for a haircut only, so maybe this place is better with hair cuts than hair dye? But I really wouldn't recommend this place at all for dying your hair, as I wasn't happy with mine. Again, it is hard for me to write this review because I do empathize with them as an Asian woman who has family in the service industry, especially after the pandemic that brought out a lot of unkind words to Asians, but I do want to warn people who are thinking of coming here to at least dye their hair.
