Oumou is downright THE BEST in the world! I am not exaggerating: I am a nomad, traveling the world and braiding my very thin puffy hair (I am a white girl) for nearly 17 years. I did my micros everywhere: in usa, in Jamaica, in Mexico, in Thailand, in Bali, in India, God knows where else. NOONE has such magical hands that Oumou does. she a professional with years of experience, her touch is gentle and almost non-sensible. she never ever pulls your hair, she doesn't make super tight knots, which 99% of the braiders do. braids from Oumou stay easily up to 10-12 weeks, without sliding, without paining sculp and the most, most, nost important: when I take the braids out, there ia ZERO hair loss!!!! only those that would naturally come out with time. I used to lose 30-40% of my hair after each braiding before I found them and I would have to take 6-8-12 months breaks between the braids. with Oumou, I do my hair, rock it for 2-3 months and come back in the matter of couple of weeks for a new style!!! all of the helping girls are very chill and laid back, they are all funny and laughing and the vibe at the salon is super relaxed, which is important for me, as I do micros, and they took usually from 6 to 8 hours. I do spend the whole day there, but its totally worth it!!!! I love Oumou with all my heart and I will never ever change my salon and will never ever settle on any other place, even if I have to fly across the whole globe to get my hair done thank you, dearest 😘 💖
I asked for an appointment a week in advance. I came on time and there was no lady available to do my hair. Apparently the lady was "on her way" and I had to wait. The place also was running out of hair and was annoyed I didn’t bring my own hair… Would’ve been nice to know in the first place. After an hour of waiting I had to walk out. My time was disregarded. I made a hair appointment down the street instead. Needs better management and scheduling! People have lives. Very unprofessional.
The owner and the braider are very annoying. She gave me time to come at 10am and I called her in the morning to confirm she told me she will be 30mins late. I was coming from Northreading and I told her no problem. They did not get to the shop till 10:48am and they still have the gut to be yelling at me after I told them they need to open the door because I am freezing because I have been standing outside waiting for them. The owner called and started yelling at me. Don’t go there if you don’t want your time to be wasted.
Terrible. I asked them for medium butt length braids and they gave me jumbo boneless braids. And then I told them I didn’t want to continue because I didn’t like the hair, they said they won’t undo it and I still paid the full price. Why open a company knowing you can’t meet the needs of a client.
They do the best boho and regular knotless. The lady was very precise with my hair and didnt rush it but still took a reasonable time. you can tell they have years of experience with hair. My hair also grew so much after taking out my braids. This salon will always be my go to.
Came in at 9 am for boho knotless braids and left at 8 pm. The hairdresser doing my hair left my hair several times on occasion, and the rude and crude manager continued to make excuses for her and for the poor, excruciatingly slow treatment I was given into the night. The whole day I was there. I knew that type of braid shouldn’t take that long. Two other girls came in the salon after me and they all finished before me, after several hours, that is. We were all tired and sick of their neglect. I felt so bad when leaving because another client had been sitting in the chair with her hair being slowly braided as well. She’s not leaving till 12. The slow performance, downright disrespectful speech and borderline horrible client treatment makes this a horrible salon. My braids came out bulky and messy. NEVER visit this place unless you’re ready to sacrifice hours of your life. There is a salon down the street much better 🙂
When I go, I usually get Senegalese twist and let me tell you she does an amazing job!!! She is the only one I let touch my hair. Her prices are great as well. My twists last as long as you take care of them. Definitely recommend!
