Assana African hair braiding lowell

I usually go here with no complaints but as of the last two times I have gotten braids instead of curling it she braids the ends and it doesn’t hold the curl so I end up having to redo it myself at home which wouldn’t be a problem if she didn’t charge 10 dollars for curling it. Recently I told her I will do the curls at home cause I was doing it myself anyways and wanted to save the 10 dollars but instead she charged 20 dollars extra she charged 230 when the styles is usually 220 including the hair and curling the ends. Without the hair usually 200. since she didn’t do the curls I should’ve been charged only 210 cause I was going to do the curls on my own and didn’t bring my own hair. Other than that she does great on the styles I’ve previously had done by her.

These are the best, most consistent, beautiful braids my daughters gets. Assana is so kind and works with your schedule. We love her!

Cleanest ethnic hairstylist in town hands down! She’s super sweet and understanding. And willing to do any hair style I throw at her. Totally worth giving a try.

I’ve been in Lowell area for years and have been struggling to find a good and reliable hairstylist till now. Assana is extremely talented and runs her business to perfection..she was on time and takes her time to bring to life exactly what I needed. I will definitely be going back.

I’ve gotten my hair done by Assana quite a few times and each time has been wonderful. She is extremely fast, her work is neat and and beautiful. She takes a lot of care to make sure I’m happy with my braids and she is very sweet. Her prices are competitive and worth the money.

I want to start this review by saying I did not go and get a braid style done. This is a review on the outrageous price I was given. I wanted to get my niece’s hair done in a simple little corn-roll style. I called this braiding establishment and after speaking for about 2 minutes she said text her the photo. I sent her (the woman who answered the phone, didn’t get a name) the photo and let her know I didn’t want it that long on my niece. I’m also bringing the hair and all the products. She is going to call me back and quote me $120 dollars! On a child’s hairstyle! Then ask how old she is, what the hell does that matter? I’m not sure how she prices other hairstyles but I will never give her or any other businesses like her’s the time of day. Something needs to be done in Massachusetts about these braiding salons. They certainly aren’t up to code and they mostly only take cash. So I’m sure they are either not paying taxes or lying on their tax forms. All these braiding hair salons need to be regulated because the people who they are taking advantage of, are the same as them; hard working people who work for every single dollar.
