Salon on Sixth

I do not usually complain about businesses I deal with, but my experience at Salon on Sixth on Saturday, January 10, was serious enough that I feel obligated to bring it to your attention. This was my third visit to your salon and my first time receiving a perm from Sarai, who stated she has over 30 years of experience. I arrived a few minutes early for my scheduled perm and haircut appointment. After my hair was placed in rollers and the perm solution applied, another client arrived. Instead of monitoring my processing time, Sarai began washing and cutting the other client’s hair. The maximum recommended processing time for the solution is 20 minutes. After more than 20 minutes had passed with no attention, I stood up and walked around, as the cotton around my head was soaked and causing significant itching and discomfort. When I finally spoke up, the cotton was changed, but the solution was still not rinsed out. I had to complain again after more than 30 minutes of processing before my hair was finally rinsed. Even then, the rollers were removed without neutralizer being applied. I had to specifically ask if neutralizer was going to be used before it was finally put on. Throughout this process, Sarai continued working on the other client, leaving me unattended multiple times during a chemical service, which I believe is unsafe and unacceptable. As if this were not enough, while Sarai was actively cutting my hair with scissors in her hand, a cat jumped into my lap. The cat was unhygienic and startled me badly, causing my heart to race and making me fear for my safety while sharp tools were being used. I paid good money for what was, without question, the worst salon service I have ever experienced. The lack of attention, disregard for chemical processing safety, and the presence of an animal during a haircut were deeply upsetting. I will not be returning to Salon on Sixth, but I hope you take this complaint seriously and address these issues to ensure no other client experiences what I did. Christine

Sarai is a master at cutting bangs and framing your face and putting layers in your hair I'm very picky about my hair stylist and she's the only one I found that knows what she's doing and does it very well!! I can't wait until I'm able to get more services done from her!

Sarai did an amazing job cutting my hair! Exactly what I wanted—highly recommend her. Bowie is an added bonus!!

Three of us gals went down to see Jake yesterday at Salon on Sixth and got the BEST haircuts. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. Jake took what we each envisioned and made it even better. There were deep breaths, a scalp and shoulder massage and a totally relaxing wash. The shop is cute and cozy. They offered beverages while we waited for each other. They sell Aveda products and have a loyalty program. Well we'll all be going back for sure! Thanks for the great day and great hair!

I went here for a haircut from Sarai. When I went in to the salon my hair was 30 inches long I asked for it to be cut to my waist which would have been about 6 inches off and asked for some layering. When I left the salon my hair was about 14 inches long at the longest section and 10 inches at the shortest section. It will take me years to grow it out to the length I had asked her to cut it to. I genuinely don't understand how you can cut off that much extra hair from someone's head. She did not listen to what I wanted at all and I felt anxious the entire time I was in the salon and have felt anxious since leaving as well. I wish so bad that I had gone somewhere else. My hair length was very important to me I don't feel like myself and will not feel like myself for a long time. Losing this much hair unasked for feels devastating.

Staff was great, very nice environment relaxing, they have a beautiful kitty named bowie and he is just so loving. Would definitely recommend. Sarah was my hair stylist she's wonderful!

Salon on Sixth is the best Salon I have ever been. Jake was amazing! They give hand massages while your hair is settling with a towel! Very awesome service. I would so go there. Jake is my only stylist from now on. I recommend them 100%!!!
