LONG REVIEW ALERT!!! 🚨 I wish I was coming here to give 5 stars because the past 3 times I went I loved my hair and was very much RESPECTED!!! However , this go round if I could give 0 stars I would… Lets start on how FLOKAY lacks with customer service and the understanding of communication with a paying customer. I came Monday for a boho knotless BOB in which I supplied both my own braiding hair and my own DEEP BULK human hair. I was CHARGED $200. I didn’t argue the price because money isn’t an issue and I one who is all for "your price is your price" even if it is sketchy. I paid because like my 1st 3 times of paying a little over $300 for some amazing braids I didn’t mind . Long story short my hair is finished and the stylist is now wetting my hair … not only did she rod up the braiding hair (as she should) she put my already curled boho human hair into the rods and hot water … once i realized she did that it was already to late . Now that’s she unraveling the hair I see my boho isn’t curly anymore it’s more so straight and again this is human hair !!! ANY HUMAN hair especially curly placed into hot water will NEVER go back to its natural state !! So I asked the stylist : is my hair going to curl back up she replied yeah put moose … I questioned her response because not only did I not get the style I asked for I know you messed up my hair . I tipped her and then left. But once I got home it just didn’t sit right with me so I called Flokay and returned and that’s where the lack of respect came in . Because this post is already long ill sum the next part up . Basically I went back Flokay tried to claim my hair wasn’t real human even after her stylist told her she didn’t want to fix my hair and to give me my money back Flokay did a quick fix which resulted in me wanting to take my braids out , get a partial refund or even taking half out and re doing the front . I sat in her shop TUESDAY from 8:30am-7:30pm waiting for just for her to come in with a stuck up attitude arguing with me and both her workers and still not wanting to refund my money . ATP I had sat there to long way to respectful I told her I wasn’t leaving until she gave me ATLEAST $100 . She then offered to take my hair out and pay me the $100 once I agreed she said no… shortly after she snuck out the back of her salon and left her worker to deal with the problem. I got my $100 but I still can’t believe how I was treated as a regular customer who never cried about pricing … these people don’t care about nothing but money and by these people i mean FLOKAY. She have apologized but it’s truly beyond that now and I will NEVER EVER RETURN & I hope anyone that’s considering DONT NEITHER !! I inserted pictures of what I asked for vs what I ended up with.

I have been coming to Flokay’s for over 15 years. This is a place where I know I can come and get anything done and be completely satisfied. Braids, twist, corn rolls and especially sewing’s. Amy is exceptional when she does my sewing’s. They last for at least two months and no breakage. I highly recommend.

Flokay, the owner is very accommodating and she does not want any of her customers to leave unsatisfied! However I’ve been here twice and showed them a picture of what size braids I wanted and they did not do anywhere close to the size! They tried to give me jumbo size knotless both times when I asked for medium!! The workers are VERY rude and nasty and will talk about you in whatever language they are speaking! I will NEVER go back! I only went back a second time because Diva Amina’s was too packed on a Saturday evening and they were EMPTY! But never again d not o here because he workers don’t value anybody and their work is very basic, nothing special about the braiders there! I attached a photo of what I asked for vs what I got & they charged me $250. Flokay is money hungry and will not give you anything back, she said she’ll give me a discount next time but there won’t be a next time

I’ve been to Flokay’s braiding shop about 4 times now and everytime I come to her shop I love my hairstyles! The woman who braids my hair is named Miriam, she’s amazing at what she does and she gets the job done super fast! FloKay is such a sweet person and I really enjoy myself everytime I go there. This is my go to braiding shop and I recommend it to everyone who asks me about getting braids done! Also, For the boho braids you have to bring your own curly hair. XoXo

I went to get my hair braided October 11, 2024 by October 17 I was back because my curly hair was slipping out of the braid. I called Flo to let her know and she hung up on me 3 times!!! The young lady Maii who braided my hair called her and she answered. The audacity after I paid $240.00 including tip. I would never go back. There are 1000 other African braiding shops in my area she won’t make any more money with me

Such a shame that stylist are missing out on money because their boss/ shop owner is greedy for money. I paid a deposit and was given a time to come in to get my hair styled. I waited patiently for an hour and a half. The stylist then asked another lady to sit in her hair to begin her service. The owner double booked the stylist. When i asked and mentioned my deposit and time slot the owner FLOKAY. Asked to see the style i wanted and if i could just wait. I declined asked for my money back and had to find a random shop to get a few cornrows to hold me over until i find another braider. Such an inconvenience. FLOKAY do better, stop being greedy and work on your customer service.

Don’t get faux locs from here. I usually do my own hair but wanted to treat myself. Flokay did my hair personally and it was nothing like I asked. The parts were crooked and they were too tight making them really stiff. Plus I wanted small faux locs and received large ones. Horrible experience
