Absolutely a 10/10 haircut and experience! Wes and Paul are absolute professionals. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was friendly and welcoming, and they made me feel totally comfortable. I can honestly say this is the best haircut I’ve had in Iowa City, hands down. They really take their time to make sure everything looks perfect, and you can tell they care about their craft and their clients. The shop itself has an awesome atmosphere—laid-back, clean, and just a great place to hang out while getting your hair done. If you’re in Iowa City and need a haircut, I can’t recommend this spot enough!

Highly recommend this place! Paul gave my toddler his first haircut and it turned out exactly how i wanted it! He was very welcoming and friendly.

This is a beautiful little shop with welcoming and personable staff. They did an exceptional job and made me look sharp!

i scheduled a consultation and a cut, which should’ve allotted me an hour of her time. she doubled booked me, so there was someone there when i showed up. the entire cut felt rushed. i left 25 min after my appointment started. i expressed how i haven’t gotten a proper hair cut in 4 years because of bad experiences, so i was hoping that my feelings and preferences would be respected. when i showed her pictures of what i wanted, she said that wouldn’t be possible and when i said it was the roundness that i liked, she dismissed me again, so i put my phone down and she just started my cut. i felt criticized for what i wanted done and didn’t feel listened to when i requested to go shorter in the back. i came in with a head of curls and left with straight hair that was like a bulb on my head. no effort to style my curls. she combed it straight to cut it and then blowed dried it straight too. she told me i shouldn’t be using a product i use, so i asked for suggestions of products or how to style it so it lays the way i want and she had nothing to say. i was recommended this place by 2 people in my life. i’m beyond disappointed with how i was treated and how my haircut turned out. this place might work for some people, but i cannot recommended anyone with curly hair goes here. i’m certainly never coming back and will probably not get my hair cut professionally again. i hope that they learn how to respect their clients and make them feel important and listened to in the future.

I have gotten my hair cut here a couple of times, once from both hair stylists. Back in 2021 I think. I will just say, after seeing the responses to any and all negative reviews of this place, I would caution anybody from going here. I have heard from friends who I recommend come here and ended up having bad experiences (and left a negative review) who were called by the owner and essentially harassed about their review, making them feel bad and blaming the customer for their bad experience. To never take absolutely any ownership about mistakes, whether the complaints are valid or not, is so unprofessional and backwards. Please reconsider your approach to criticism and stop harassing people?? Bare minimum

Paul Clark is awesome! I haven't had a cut from Kris yet but I've only seen happy customers leaving their chair. I feel very heard and respected while in the chair, and Paul has been quick to make great suggestions if I'm uncertain or unclear. The salon is tiny but feels very comforting and charming, kudos to Kris and Paul for their styles and ability to make one feel welcome.
