I've been coming here for years for Amy to do my hair... Never have i ever had a bad experience at Avenson Salon. The atmosphere is warm & welcoming, and the company while being pampered is unmatched. Amy, as well as all the stylists, take the time to know their clients while making sure their hair needs are met with satisfaction. The boutique in the back of the salon is great to browse while processing. I have recommended 2 friends here & will continue to spread the word! 10/10.

Kala is the best!!! My husband and I have been going to her for a decade probably!! Like a big sister there to listen and give advice and has made and kept my hair so healthy. We have followed Kala to multiple salons and the vibes of this salon are immaculate!! Everyone is so nice and the owner always makes sure to come by and say hi. Feels like your just hanging with the girls!!

This is hands down the best hair salon in Iowa City! I’ve been coming here regularly for washes, color, extensions, and treatments—and I’ve had the pleasure of working with all the stylists at some point. Every single one of them is incredibly talented, professional, and so kind. No matter who you see, you’ll leave feeling amazing and confident. Not only do they always get my color just right, but my extensions look and feel so natural—and the treatments have completely revived the health of my hair. The space is gorgeous, clean, and welcoming, and the vibe is super chill. I always leave feeling refreshed and loving my hair. They truly listen to what you want, offer honest advice, and deliver flawless results every time. The atmosphere is stylish without being intimidating, and I always feel like I’m in great hands. Love this salon. I originally went to a different salon that really messed up my hair with extensions because they didn’t know what they were doing. I drive from Marion just to see Melissa every 8 weeks for my extensions. My hair looks like a million bucks! Staff here is so nice, and I love the boutique part.

I’ve been going to Avenson for over a year now, and it’s definitely the best salon I’ve been to. Olivia is my stylist, and she’s great at what she does. She’s taken my hair from a natural bright blonde to a beautiful copper and back again, and each time it’s looked amazing. She really knows how to create a style that works for you, and on top of that, she’s super friendly and fun to talk to. I always enjoy my appointments with her. Highly recommend!

Kala does a great job! She explains what products work best and best methods for whatever stylings you choose. Staff here is always friendly. Absolutely will continue to come here!
