I was very impressed by my first visit to Bishops Cut/Color salon. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, checked in and quickly had a seat. The atmosphere was lively and everyone seemed very friendly. My stylist Alexandra took me back fairly quickly. She was very nice and helpful and made sure she knew what I wanted. Throughout my appointment, she asked questions and showed me throughout. She was also very enthusiastic and engaged during our visit. I was very impressed by her and the salon. It was super efficient without feeling rushed. I made my appointment that morning and was able to go a few hours later. I’ll definitely return!
Jen D has done a very great job with my hair. It was my first time coloring my hair, she understood my intimidation towards hair damage and reassured very patiently and politely promising me a good hair color with healthy hair. She also gave me a very good layered haircut as per the inspo pictures I showed. She literally gave me a new face with the hair color. I have a naturally black hair, so I had to slightly bleach my hair for the color to show up. Overall it’s a great experience for a beginner like me with hair color.
Booked an appointment, showed up 10 minutes early. Was told my stylist (I chose "Any available stylist" online) was still working on another client. I watched two customers come in after me and get in the chair, including one that had missed a previous appointment and was still helped before me. At 20 min past my appointment time I just told them to cancel and left.
I used to go to expensive salons until I found Bishops. Even when I get a random stylist, I'm happy with the results. I keep a simple short style and can reliably ask for a "clippers set to 2 around my ears, faded longer to a few inches on top ✂️." This works every time. Bishops also has a great crew and a friendly vibe. Good prices. Recommended 👍
Let me say first that my haircut itself is perfect, literally never been more precisely what I wanted than what Angel shaped on my melon. Thank you for getting right what so many other stylists have fubbed. Separating the less than desirable conversation from this stylist from the remainder of the shop, I have to admit the shop feels dated, with faded cutouts of old celebrity magazine photos plastered over the entirety of the establishment it felt disorderly and messy. While the theme of this great celebrity hair illusion was consistent every stylist had their own personal station that held space for their personalities, which I think was great. I also think this personality is crucial to experience a comfortable hair salon, it just misses the mark to me because it felt like a barely held together theme of celebrity glam while promising personal attention to the details. If you're comfortable shelling out to a good person for a good cut, go to Bishops you won't regret it. But if you desire something more sterile and cookie cutter you might think Bishops is not for you, but you'd be wrong. I highly suggest you take a minute with a good stylist at Bishops in their half put together studio because it will help you appreciate that not everything about community is perfectly quaffed, you might have an honest interaction with a decent person, and on top of that you'll leave with a damn good cut too.
This place is fine if you want a basic cut, but for anything more complicated I would highly recommend going somewhere else. I went in to get my color redone, along with a cut and keratin treatment. They ended up charging me well over $100 above what I had been quoted. Now I understand that during an extended hair treatment some things can come up that can alter the price of the procedure, but $100 is frankly ridiculous. The company seems to know what they're doing too, as they had me sign a waiver essentially relinquishing them of any responsibility for overcharging me. Funnily enough they didn't even bother to fill in the part on the form where they're supposed to list the procedures being done or their costs. Just left that part blank. So after sitting in a chair for well over 4 hours I was left with a color and style that were not at all like what I'd requested. And they didn't even bother to style it or finish drying it before asking me to pay them nearly $400. And to top it all off, when I got home I found a large bleach stain on the back of my sweater.
Kat K. did a really great job cutting my hair and then was able to get me in to color it the next day! I’ve never ever colored my hair at all, it is long and dark brown, and she did an amazing job highlighting it! I am super happy with the result! Thank you!
