Yulmia is amazing! This was the second time I got my haircut with her and I 100% trust her skills. I’m so not a trustworthy person when it comes from someone cutting my hair. I have had too many bad experiences at chain salons, but Yulmia is skillful and knowledgeable with cutting hair. I will forever come here if she is there. I don’t think I will ever have anyone else cut my hair but her. The first time I went to her cut and dyed my hair and that was also the best my hair ever looked. I promise you will not be disappointed!!!
I had an appointment with Yumila a few months ago for a wash, trim, and blowdry. Her work and attention was amazing. She helped me understand what I should be doing better in my usual routine and what was causing some issues. She did a great job!
I typically go to salons to get my hair done and use Cuttery as just an occasional trim here. Ray (Rachel) took very good care of me and made me feel very welcomed. I’m just gonna start coming here for my hair if she does it. She made sure she was very thorough with my hair and that I was okay with everything she was doing. She has a great personality and is easy to talk with. You’d think you guys were really good friends. Lol great experience
I hate to leave a bad review, I really do. But I was disappointed in the disregard given to fixing a mistake that was made. I booked a haircut and partial balayage that was estimated to be $127, which of course I expected to change a bit when I got there. Get there, tell her what I want, which involved some foils and blending in my brown roots with the previous grown out and faded red and few blond highlights I had, and I understand some challenges come with that. Wasn't expecting platinum blond or anything, I'm not picky. She goes to get a price estimate, says it will be $189. Ok sure. She asks if I want it blow dried, and I said I don't care either way (bc I didn't really want to pay more for it if it would cost extra but I didn't say that) then she says nothing and goes back to estimate I assume and then says it will now be $202, I ask why, and says it's part of a value package. I'm still like okay that's fine even though I didn't understand the discrepancy but it was whatever. She does the foils, tones my hair, rinses it out. Asks me if what was there was fine, and I was alarmed by how uneven everything looked as there were some splotchy areas that took to the bleach better than other pieces, which isn't totally unexpected when there is previous color but it was obvious that it wasn't toned enough, so why ask if it's fine? I asked to tone it again, we did it again, and it did look much better the second time. Was alarmed again because while she was blow drying the back of my head, another stylist asked her (in a concerned voice) "did you tone the area I told you to?" (a convo that must have happened away from me) and she said yes, then that other stylist said "it looks very pretty" but I think that was to not raise alarm bells for me given her previous statement. And when I saw the back of my head at the salon I thought it looked fine, I even tipped 20%. But when I got home I checked more thoroughly, in better lighting, due to my concern from the first tone job, I see this giant chunk of blonde where my natural hair color should have been given the pattern of everything else around it. So I drive back there to have it fixed. She put toner on those parts and let it sit for all of 5-10 minutes and just sprays it with water instead of taking me to the sink to rinse it, and also keeps finding more spots to fix and she tries to fix it with more toner, again not for very long. The spots she was showing me on the back of my head after "fixing" it were either spots that didn't have that issue, or I just couldn't totally see it in that lighting and distance from the chair. I'm near-sighted and wear glasses. Pretty sure one or two other stylists looked at it as well and still let it slide. I thought I had caught a glimpse of it as I was about to give the mirror back, but at that point I'm hungry and annoyed because my initial appointment was from 9-1:30ish and by the time I leave, come back, and leave again it's now 3 pm. I also thought it was strange that no one offered any sort of compensatory service or product for the trouble of having to come back, which isn't something I feel entitled to by any means, but just seems like this would be commonplace given the inconvenience, especially since no one actually fixed anything. For what ultimately was just an inch off, some long layers, trimmed bangs, and a lackluster balayage... I kind of just want somewhat of a refund... I was understanding and polite the whole time and I really don't want to name anyone or hurt any feelings because I was overall satisfied with how it looked until coming upon these issues. But I don't think I will be returning.
Shay was incredibly kind, accommodating, and patient. She helped me navigate my struggles with my hair with such professionalism and care that I immediately wished I had found her sooner. She was respectful, attentive, and very talented. She explained every detail of her decisions to accommodate my needs, and she made me feel genuinely good about myself throughout the process. The end result was even more delightful than I expected. She is a wonderful hairstylist, and I cannot thank her enough for the amazing work she has done.
If you want a good hair cut for your kids and nice people go here. I took my son here and our stylist and the whole salon was nice . Definitely going back again.
I had a blowout with Eileen super last minute and she was fantastic! I ended up adding a gloss and not only was she knowledgeable but super easy to talk to. She spoke very highly of the company and her treatment was more in line with a high end salon so Ill be back!
