Chois Barber Shop

I rarely go out of my way to write reviews, but Mr Choi is an amazing barber and a sincerely kind man. I’ve been going to him for almost 2 years now. While conversing with him I get a sense that he cares deeply about his customers. Mrs Choi is also very kind. My highest regards to them and their quaint business!

I have been coming to Mr. Chois for a couple of years now, and the service has always been excellent. This is an awesome barbershop for the price one pays in Fremont. It will seem strange at the beginning walking into the shop at someone's backyard for a haircut, but the haircuts are totally worth it. The haircuts are mostly scissor based, high skilled and the attention to detail is fantastic. You need an appointment. It helps a lot to speak slowly to Mrs. Chois to setup one. Payment is cash only.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting my haircut by Mr. Choi for the last couple years. He really is a master of his craft, which is almost entirely all scissor work. I only learned today that he has been cutting hair for 60+ years! He is courteous, pleasant, and professional. I recommend bringing a picture of the haircut that you want and communicating through pictures. For making an appointment, I recommend speaking slowly and succinctly when communicating your needs. It may feel strange at first walking to the backyard of someone’s house to get a haircut, but over time and multiple visits you will feel like it’s a warm visit to a respected community member’s place, one who provides a continual and beneficial service to those around him. Sadly, I will be moving out of the area, but if I ever visit I will very likely be trying to schedule a haircut here. Thank you Mr. Choi for all the good times! I brought my sons ages 11 and 8 for a haircut and we are very happy with the result. My boys have thin blond hair without much volume so it's difficult to find someone who knows how to make it look good. We’ll be back!

This is an amazing barbershop in Fremont with an impossible-to-beat price. Owned by a lovely Korean old couple, the barbershop provides a super welcoming environment. I come here regularly to get my hair cut and would recommend this shop to anyone.
