I cannot say enough good things about my stylist. From the moment I sat in her chair, I felt heard, cared for, and completely comfortable. She is incredibly knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and truly passionate about what she does — and it shows in her work. She took the time to assess my hair, explain the process, and make sure everything was done in a way that prioritized hair health while still giving me the exact look I wanted. My hair came out beautiful, soft, and flawless, and I walked out feeling confident and taken care of. Beyond the talent, her energy is unmatched — professional, kind, and welcoming. This is the kind of stylist who genuinely wants the best for her clients, not just a quick appointment. If you’re looking for someone you can trust with your hair, this is your girl. You can tell right away that she truly knows hair! She did my locs and followed it up with a steam treatment, and my hair felt so hydrated, soft, and refreshed afterward. What I appreciate most is that she’s a real hairstylist she understands hair, listens, and works with intention instead of just rushing through a service. Her skill level and knowledge are unmatched. She’s genuinely a master at what she does.

I got my hair done by Tasha (owner of Atsha Hair). This was my first time going to her since I moved to Frederick during the summer and needed to find a new hairstylist who specialized in Black haircare. Tasha was great. I found her on social media/Google. When I read all the 5-start reviews, I was pleased with what I was reading. Then I went to her website and it was neat, organized and displayed beautiful Black women with beautiful hair which tells me that is her target demographic (although I am sure she can do anyone's hair). Her greeting message on her booking page "I'm an old-school stylist. I won't ghost you, demand deposits, or act like you are doing me a favor by sitting in my chair..." Ugh...a stylist after my own heart. That sold me. Especially since I am a salon girl --- I grew up in an old fashion hair salon from the time I was a girl until I was an adult. Atsha hair is a private suite in a Salon Suite setup. It is pretty cozy. Upon my first meeting, Tasha was very personable and professional. I enjoyed talking with her while I got a wash, blow dry, trim and silk press. We talked about everything. She was such a pleasure. My hair came out beautifully and she used top of the line products that had my hair feeling bouncy, looking shiny and just wonderful. Her prices were also reasonable. She educated me on her process of coloring which was super helpful and made me feel at ease, if I want to color my hair next time with her. I had a poor experience with another local hair stylist a few weeks earlier and decided not to try to book with her again. Tasha has restored my trust! The process with her was so effortless and she was very responsive prior to the appointment. I will be returning to her again. And I recommend her to anyone else who is local and looking for a hairstylist that specializes in Black hair.

This hair dresser is a hair specialist. When you don’t know where to start she knows. When I say she will take care of you I MEAN exactly that. I had no idea what I really wanted and my hair needed help. She is one of the most selfless people I know and will take her time with you. My hair turned out far better than I had even thought. Three weeks later and it still looks good.
