✨First visit…I visited Tipsy Salon on a Sunday evening around 5pm. I called ahead to see if they had availability for a walk-in for nail service. Mark, the salon manager, was very polite and helpful. I find the hours convenient, especially on the weekends. Upon arrival, the salon was not crowded and my services began immediately. The salon offers hair and facial services in addition to nails. The massage chairs are a plus. I used the 20% off coupon for new clients found on their website. They also offer wine 🍷 and other beverages for an additional charge. Because there is a lot to do in the area (Las Olas), this would be a great venue for a girls glam celebration. There are plenty of chairs and workers to accommodate a medium size group. I came in for a mani/pedi and treated myself to the extra signature/spa pedicure (lavender). Since I added a French tip, there was an additional charge. Even with the discount, my service came up to $120 which took me by surprise. Overall, it was pretty simple and I was satisfied with the service. 💅🏽
My experience at this nail salon was absolutely phenomenal. If you’re looking for luxury, cleanliness, a welcoming atmosphere, and well-mannered staff, look no further. My experience with Frank was the best! He has consistently done my nails, and they are always flawless. I’m so grateful for him and the entire staff here. They make you feel calm and welcome, as if you belong. Most nail salons rush and do poor work, but after leaving here, your nails look like a celebrity’s!
I have been a loyal client of this salon for many years, which makes this review very disappointing to write. My past three appointments in particular have been extremely frustrating. Even when I book ahead of time, I end up waiting anywhere from 30-60 minutes before starting my services (even when I purposely schedule during slower mid-day hours). Marisa has always been my go-to nail tech, and this is not a reflection of her personally. She is amazing, personable, talented and has consistently done a wonderful job for me. The issue is that she is clearly overworked and rushed due to double-booking and poor scheduling. During my most recent visit, she mentioned she had six clients back-to-back without a single break all day. As a result, my service felt hurried and the quality has declined dramatically. After being at the salon for 3 hours (for a simple gel mani and regular express pedi), I left with multiple painful cuts on my fingers, and several days later I still have scabs, chunks of skin missing, redness and inflammation around my cuticles (see photos). Paying $100+ to leave bleeding and in pain is unacceptable. The management needs to respect their technicians’ time and their clients’ appointments. Unfortunately, unless major changes are made, I will not be returning.
Nails are okay. The technique could be better (shape, polish on cuticles, non uniform gel distribution, apex of the nail is caved). A bit confused about the pricing as the website indicates 45$ for gel fill and the total came down to 80$. Apparently you pay 45$ for the "liquid gel" then 25$ for the gel color. The liquid gel is a thick base coat, by the way. Never seen a salon charge those separately, I thought it would be common sense that if you pay 45$ for a gel fill that that includes the actual color. I would have liked to be informed ahead of time about this. Especially as this is an uncommon thing to do in a nail salon, it should be indicated on the website. No one likes to discover a new price that is twice higher than the expected one, once you are asked to pay. Thankfully I used the 20% off coupon so the total came down to 75$ including a tip. If I hadn’t had the coupon it would have been 100$ which I find absolutely wild for a simple gel refill. For reference, I pay 40$CAD (29$USD) for a GelX refill (harder technique than whatever "liquid gel" is) back home in the 51st state. Cheers. Edit: update 2days post appointment, nail has chipped off (see photo). Going from a 3 star to a 1 star. Save your time and money, avoid salon at all costs.
SO AWESOME!!! Has great vibes, very nice and kind staff. Very communicative and friendly and my nails are awesome!! I got cat eye gel and def recommend the tipsy pedicure ^_^
I came in genuinely excited to try this salon because the atmosphere is amazing but I regret letting Barbara work on me. I came in knowing exactly what I wanted: a simple gel refill and a big-toe fix. Nothing complicated. Nothing extra. Instead, Barbara: • Tried to upsell me services I did not request • Ignored the exact colour I asked for (multiple times) • Critiqued my previous tech at another salon — who actually does perfect work but is far and wasn’t available today • Removed my nails completely and put on thick gel-X tips I NEVER asked for • Gave me the wrong shape, wrong length, and wrong colour • Took so long that she never even fixed my split big toe, which I repeatedly mentioned • Sent me out the door with an injured toe and nails I genuinely hate….for $110 This was supposed to be a quick refill and a simple toenail repair. Instead, I was ignored, upsold, pressured, and left with work I never wanted. I’m saying this respectfully: Barbara does not listen and she is unprofessional. She should not be taking appointments unsupervised.
I am extremely disappointed with the quality of service my daughter received. The nails were done carelessly, they are crooked, uneven, are transparent, which wasn't even the intention, and the shape is completely off. It looks like the nail technician wasn’t even paying attention to what she was doing. Some of the nails even have a strange bubble forming, and we have no idea what that could mean or if it’s safe. The overall look is very messy, unprofessional, and nothing like what was expected. This is not what you pay for when going to a salon. We expected a clean and polished result, but instead ended up with something that looks rushed and poorly done. Definitely won’t be returning and do not recommend this place if you’re expecting even basic standards.
