Locafella Loc Studio

I get my hair done by Ab/Foxy and she's awesome! She fixed my diy hair coloring and loc'd me up on the same day. She's made scheduling and rescheduling really easy for me as well. I've been going to her for about two months now and she gets me right every time. The shop is clean and all the stylists I've encountered are good folk.

Every appointment with Abrion (aka Foxy/AB) is better than the last. She’s patient, gentle on my scalp, and always willing to try new styles as she continues mastering techniques that work for my locs. I love that she’s intentional — she won’t rush, and she cares about keeping my hair healthy first. My parts stay clean, the retwist holds beautifully, and the styles are getting more and more creative. Proud of her growth and grateful to have her on my loc journey!

I have been going to Foxy-AB for a few years. My best friend referred me. The new studio has a very nice vibe. She knows what I need as a customer which is always a plus. I got color for the first time, she understood the assignment and how important the color was and its meaning. I won’t recommend anyone else.

Won’t give it one star because the shop was clean and the vibes were good until….. I paid my deposit and was supposed to come with $115 more which is what I came with. I get into the shop and Lisa looks at my hair and says "wow you got a lot of hair". Instantly when she said that I knew she was tryna upcharge me. I sit in the chair. She gets halfway done with my hair and says "what’s your budget". What’s my budget? The price I was supposed to pay on the website before I came in. If you were going to upcharge me you could’ve said that the moment you seen my hair and said "wow that’s a lot of hair. Why wait until you’re halfway done? What I if I didn’t have the rest that day? So many questions that can’t be answered. Mind you this is my first time. I ended up paying 3 something that day feeling scammed out my money on a first time experience. I even asked for two strands and she recommended 4 strands (which I didn’t have to agree to, I know) but on top of everything else that happened just makes me think she didn’t want to do 2 strands as 4 strands were easier for her at the time. The owner saying I have brother locs doesn't take away the fact that she should’ve let me know what my final price was before I sat down to get my hair done. The person who did my hair literally changed her policy the next day due to a mistake on her end.

The salon had such a fun, lively, and diverse energy. It felt like a space where creativity and individuality were celebrated. The conversations flowed easily, and I was surrounded by people who were all enjoying the experience. A lot of price changing and up charging. 8% service charge for card. Booked with a stylist online who then stated she wasn’t working that day after the appt was confirmed. Loc style plat braids not even braided completely down to ends.

So I'm changing my review .After 2 in half weeks my hair has been itching I found out from an other hair salon lady that did my sons hair last week that actually goes to them told me that they use a gel like product 😅..which I did not know because my hair starts to flake ...Also when Jasmin stated my hair was added ...I did not add any extensions to my hair ..luckily I was always blessed with long hair and decidedto loc my hair ...Not everyone has the texture I have ..not everyone has an afro texture just an fyi .My actual hairstylist added hair to make my locs thicker because they were thin not extensions there's a difference(correcting you ) I have my actual license AS WELL over 20 yrs ..and 2nd I'm not sure if you realize but I could of easily on my news platform on tiktok and ig and could of did a video ..which I have alot of followers from the IE and LA area .3rd of all yes your sister could done way better on my hair and really shouldn't have lied to me on the wash I get it you had water issues in your building .She did use product that broke me out and got my itching and now I have dandruff and dry skin. In addition, if someone broke into your salon that's a problem because that would be a good environment to be in no bueno tu es malo.Like I said it wasn't the best but take the feedback to the chin and let it go .I gave 1 star for update .I would not recommend my clients that do have locs to this salon due to the product ...attached what my hair was always like before locs ..and 3 weeks after my locs my hair to itching and flaked up from product used .I had to wash it out. Just started burning .
