By far one of the best Korean hair salons in the Queens area! The hair stylists/barbers are so welcoming, kind, respectful, and overall create a very homey atmosphere. I came in for a perm + haircut and after finishing up, the man invited me for a re-perm (the initial perm didn’t marinate long enough). The re-perm was for free and it was clear that they care about the work they do! It is clear that the workers take their craft very seriously and want to do the best work possible. 10/10 experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area!

If you’ve stumbled upon Magic Iron, you just landed on a diamond mine. I’ve gone to many different hairstylists across numerous states, never satisfied with the finished result. My curse was lifted when I met Jay. Jay is a gifted craftsman, arguably a healer. He singlehandedly cured my deep hair trauma. After seeing Jay for about a year, my hair confidence only keeps growing — every single haircut I’ve gotten from him has been AMAZING. Ask for his insights on what hairstyle(s) might look best on you (it would be helpful to show him a couple of reference photos). He speaks both English and Korean fluently. I can write a PhD dissertation on Jay, where I would defend him to the ends of the earth. Many clients, including myself, travel long distances just to see him. As much as I want to gatekeep Jay, he deserves every ounce of recognition for his superb craftsmanship. Jay is genuinely the *best* of the best, give Magic Iron a try 🙂

I've been going with Jay for my hair-cut over 5 years now and I am very glad to go his new salon. Jay is friendly, knowledgeable, and skillful. He always spend time making sure he understand exactly what I want and how I want it. Highly, highly recommend!! If you're looking for a new hair salon, this is definitely the place to go!

I have been going to Jay at Magic Iron for more than 4 years, about once every 2-3 weeks. He is one of the few hair stylists in the area that are up to date on trending hairstyles. More importantly, the reason I find him worth the 40 minute trip to see him is that he is very consistent. I would highly recommend Jay to anyone looking for a professional hair stylist!!!

Finally I found someone who has knowledge of doing Japanese straightening and cut the side bangs correctly , Jay and Sunny are both Great. Sunny has been my barber since when she was working in OHA. But I lost her contact when she quit, surprisingly found out she is working at Magic Iron. And Jay is super patient. The price of this place is reasonable. Definitely it will be my future barber shop to go.
