McSweeney the Salon

I had a great experience getting my hair highlighted and trimmed here! Lily did an amazing job giving me something fresh and fitting for me. Don was super helpful along the way and the salon atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. I'm super happy with the results!

Don (McSweeney owner) has been highlighting and styling my hair for several year and I have never been disappointed. It is always a pleasure to walk into McSweeny and let him do his thing. I highly recommend Don to anyone looking for hair styling. Over the years we have become friends and I always look forward to my time in his chair!

It is with a heavy heart that I have to write a negative review about this Mcsweeny. I have visited this salon two times since it is unrealistic to drive to Phoenix to get a hair cut. The first time I went in, a nice lady cut my hair and blew it out and did a great job! She gave me great layers and cut and styles my bangs well. The second time I visited, they were able to squeeze me into their schedule which I greatly appreciate! The owner, Don, was the one who cut my hair during my second visit, and he treated me with respect and kindness. He did speak quickly and seemed quite sporadic while he was cutting my hair. I was in the salon for a little over an hour, which I feel like is quite a long time. I requested a trim to retouch my layers, as well as trimming my bangs. He preformed these services, but he spent quite a long time cutting my hair and quite a long time blow drying my hair. It may have just been my interpretation, but I felt that Don continued to blow dry my hair after it was already dry. Both times I paid $90 for a haircut (including tip and a hair wash), but I do not feel that this is worth a $90 haircut. The tipping options at the end were only 20%, 25%, and 100%, which I had never seen before. The first picture listed below was the first time getting my hair cut, and I have no complaints about that visit! The following two pictures are from the second visit. I do not think my bangs are cut very well. Don provides great customer service and a good smile, I was just unhappy with how long the visit took and how my bangs turned out. Thank you Mcsweeny for your haircut expertise, but I think after my second visit I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Don balayaged my hair last week and I love it!!! No other places in flagstaff have balayaged my hair this good. I highly recommend this salon. The atmosphere is great and I’m definitely going back. I love the curtain bangs he cut as well. They blend very well into my hair.

I’ve been coming to McSweeney for 4 years and I am always happy with the results. I am very fussy about my hair color and Don gets it just right! The haircut is always exactly what I ask for. Alianna straightens my hair periodically. She is extremely patient, takes her time, and takes up a very small amount of hair at a time with the flat iron, which makes it last longer. I get a lot of compliments on my hair, and it’s because I trust it to Don and Alianna’s professionalism.

Went in for a cut and color and an eyebrow wax with Don and am very happy with my experience! I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my hair so he suggested blonde and copper highlights and they look amazing! My hair was damaged and unhealthy before and after the cut it feels and looks nice and healthy again! He did an excellent job with my eyebrows and made sure not to take away too much and they look perfect! Don made fun conversation the whole appointment and was very friendly! Would definitely recommend!

Don is amazing! I walked in with the worst haircut and color of my life, and walked out with the best! He listened and together we came up with a hairstyle and color that was best for me. I can tell he strives to be the best, he is an artist. I get compliments daily. The salon is immaculate and professional. His prices are always consistent and his products are great. I’ve been with him for over a year and would never go anywhere else.
