I’m late doing this review cause last summer 2025 after the 3rd appt with Jason, I had to deal with prostate cancer reoccurrence which I just recently finished, and thought I’d post my review. I chose Jason to help me with getting a new unit cause I thought he was good at doing this. I met Jason the previous summer 2024 for a haircut while I was in town visiting friends. Later after a bad experience with a hairstylist in SC and GA, I reached out to Jason early 2025 about my situation, and he said these bad experiences happen in the industry where the hair stylist takes advantage of their customers, but ASSURED me I wouldn’t have that problem with him. That he’d been cutting hair for 30 plus years. So I saw Jason about a new unit on 04-16-25. It was a 1000 mile RT drive from me. From what I gathered in my conversations with Jason, he’s mostly a hairdresser, wigmaster with theatrical work, but occasionally helps customers to order units at a discount, and cuts them in for the customer, supposingly for a savings. During the initial consult with Jason on 04-16-25 (costing me $70) he helped me order the unit from the manufacturer which cost me $360 for the unit. When I received the unit, I went back to Jason 07-17-25 for the cut in. He said normally a cut in takes 2-3 hrs, but he spent over 11 hrs doing my cut in over 2 days. When it was all said and done, JASON CUT THE UNIT TOO SHORT IN THE BACK, thus it couldn’t be used. Needless to say I was very disappointed that he screwed up my unit….and also being that I drove 1,000 miles RT for the appt. Toward the end of the 07-17-25 appt. Jason realized he had screwed up my unit by cutting it too short, so he went through the checklist again to order another unit that he paid for. HOWEVER a few days later Jason contacted me and ask me to cut off a sample of my hair behind my ear and mail it to company if FL that orders the hairpiece from China. I was WONDERING WHY Jason didn’t do this while I was at his salon on 07-17-25….good question! I told him I’d be back in Knoxville 09-17-25 and needed the new unit by then. I soon found out from the manufacturer that the order would need a rush payment of $49 (which I had to pay) so it would be there in time…didn’t think that should be my expense. I drove to Knoxville for the appt on 09-17-25, and Jason spend around 12 plus hrs cutting in the 2nd new unit over a 2 day period. When he finally finished with my cut in 09-19-25, it was around 6:45pm we were the last people in the building. His shop had poor lighting and I really couldn’t tell how it looked. So I paid him the $100 for the cut in and told him I’d look at it when I got home where I had plenty of light. That’s when I realized the color of the unit DIDN’T MATCH MY HAIR, and there was a gray line where the unit met my hair. I couldn’t believe Jason screwed up my unit ONCE again. Since I posted my review, the owner responded, but then she responded again talking about the coloring of my hair, and when I do it again! First of all I DON’T COLOR MY HAIR AND NEVER HAVE. Jason NEVER talked with me about coloring my hair. It’s amazing what the studio will say about my appointments there, my hair color, to DEFLECT and MAKE UP stories about my review, in an attempt to save face. That basically Jason screwed up the 2nd hair piece he cut in by not getting the color right from the start. The bottom line is Jason DIDN’T MATCH MY HAIR correctly. After the 09-19-25 appt, I sent Jason several texts about my unit not being right and he NEVER responded. I contested the $100 charge with Chase Visa and after a month they reversed the charge. Of course the charge was reversed, pictures tell it all. But I was still out of pocket $479, $70 for initial consult, $360 my cost for the initial unit and the $49 rush fee. All I can say is BE CAUTIOUS about having Jason cut in a new unit for you. It may work out just fine for you, who knows. Apparently he doesn't do many of these cut ins, hence the 10 plus hours to do a normal 2 1/2 hr cut in.
So thankful for finding Jason and Susan! I found them 4 years ago after moving from California. After minutes with them you know you are in the midst of professionals and leaders in the industry. Education is paramount to them and they got me and my hair to a very special and healthy place. They are great communicators and have a dialogue with me to get me where I need to be. I feel so confident each time walking out of their studio.
Susan cut my hair and she was incredible! She is absolutely a hair whisperer and I had the best experience ever! Highly recommend and I will be going back forever to Susan!
I’ve been going to them for years and I cannot say enough how amazing they are! I moved to Colorado and still come back every few months and get my hair done. The quality, service, and all around experience is the best there is. 100% will keep going to them as long as I can. I usually book with Jason but Susan is AMAZING as well. I always learn something new coming here too and they give the best advice for hair.
I found MY stylist!! She was quick and knowledgeable plus friendly and welcoming when I mistakenly just walked into the studio instead of waiting lol. Silly me. But it’s like she knew exactly what mg hair needed! I am in love and feel beautiful and fresh with my new hair. Would 10000% recommend you come to Susan! Sooooo great!
Susan and Jason are the most talented hair stylists I have ever encountered! I desperately needed a new style because my hair looked very dated. I had no clue what to try and was pretty nervous about it. I didn’t know exactly what would be the most flattering for me, and I also needed a cut that I could manage without committing to a ridiculous amount of styling time every day. Susan spent a lot of time talking to me about my lifestyle and analyzing the texture and direction of my hair to see what would work best. She gave me a style completely different than the one I had and I could not love it more! It is truly the most flattering and easiest to manage haircut I have ever had. She and Jason are true artisans!
Susan has been my stylist for many years and never disappoints. She is creative offering suggestions but always listens to me about what I want to do. Her cuts grow out beautifully. And Susan helped me transition to gray without too much stress. Having Susan take care of my hair is a joy!
