I cannot speak highly enough about Shine Kids. Brooke and Jessica are amazing and it’s always such a wonderful experience to see these two ladies in their element. My oldest son has always been very nervous about getting his haircut. Brooke is always so patient and validates his feelings and makes sure he knows how brave he is for coming in. We just love her. My youngest son has wavy hair and I was extremely nervous to cut his hair for the first time. Afraid those beautiful little waves would be gone forever. Brooke was so encouraging and supportive. She has continued to cut his hair beautifully and his waves are still in tact! Please support this women owned small business. I was very nervous taking my son to get his first haircut, but it’s summertime and he needed his hair CUT! Shine Kids was absolutely the right place to GO! From the moment we walked in we were greeted warmly by Brooke who was going to be cutting my son’s hair. I booked the first haircut package, it comes with a lock of hair, a certificate and a beautiful photo they take themselves. Brooke was very fast, skilled and did a wonderful job cutting his hair. It really eased my anxiety to see how calm and relaxed my son was during the whole process which she also talked him through on what she was doing to his hair. The before and after transformation made him look like a whole new little boy. I’m so happy we had such an amazing experience, I would definitely recommend Shine Kids and plan to come back! Been a customer to The Shine Kids Salon for 3 years. Today when I went in I asked my son to stop moving 3 different times. Jen told me to stop "yelling" at him as it wasn’t helpful to her or him. When I corrected her and said I wouldn’t say I’m yelling at him I’m correcting him. She was like you know what I mean. I’m working on my 4 year olds listening skills and clearly you have a problem with parents parenting. There is a difference between yelling and correcting a child. I arrived 7 mins early so my son could play and even then you didn’t allow my child to play because like always you want to push us out the door. It’s supposed to be a place to get pampered. It always feels rushed and pressured for the next client. This haircut speaks for itself. Haircut under 15 mins. Smh. Hopefully my son has learned to sit still long enough to go to the barbershop.

My son loves getting his haircut in a fire truck. This place makes it way easier to get ur kid a nice haircut. Edit: I have debated making this update since our last appointment but I’m just so disappointed by our last trip. She always does well with my son but absolutely butchered my daughter’s hair. I asked for bangs and she cut off so much length and essentially gave her a bowl cut. I was able to fix it up myself more reasonably at home but so disappointed. Jennifer was also pretty rude to me. I’ve always noticed she had a somewhat standoffish demeanor, but this last time was so rude that I won’t return. We have been going since my son was 1 and I’m so sad to say that. I’ve recommended so many people to this salon and it just left such a bad taste in my mouth the last time. Even going as far as making passive aggressive comments about my parenting when my son told her something and she thought I was ignoring him cause she thought he was talking to me? Super weird, and I hate to say that you lost a once devoted client. Another edit due to response: you have our contact info , and I can also tell you knew that you butchered my daughter’s hair, but you didn’t really say much… I feel a salon with true integrity would’ve made it right and you never did. I added the photos after all this time because I decided I didn’t have to keep quiet about what happened especially since you never felt the need to reach out after I left when I was clearly not happy with what you did nor after the first edit to my once positive review was made. But I decided to add the photos this time and to make sure my piece was said so maybe other parents can make a better choice about where they take their kids. I will not be going back. Ever.

we love shine!! been coming here for 3+ years now and both of my sons leave with amazing haircuts every time. Jennifer & Brooke are both lovely and I appreciate how they care for my kids. They handle all different levels of difficulty during the haircuts and I always tell them how impressed I am with them! Be kind to them! This is not an easy job and if you follow their rules, it makes their lives easier!! Also love the ability to book appointments online and getting reminder texts.

My son is 2.5 years old and has had two cuts at other places that did not go well and he had such a wonderful experience at Shine, he sat well and enjoyed himself so much he didn't want to leave! The place was clean, friendly, and exciting. The ladies were amazing and our family can't wait to come back

This was our first time at Shine for my child's first haircut do-over. The owner Jennifer was our stylist. She was patient and attentive with my chatty 6 year old, and the haircut turned out great. She seemed to genuinely want our appointment to be a good experience. We scheduled a full service haircut (wash, cut, dry, style), ended up getting bangs, and did the whole first haircut thing (certificate, lock of hair, polaroid photo) all for the price of the full service. I was seriously shocked! I will happily go back and highly recommend!
