Sassy Hair by Joyce

I went here for a hair cut from Joyce and the service was so friendly and professional! I love how she cut and styled my hair. Looking forward to returning! Update: A year later, I'm still very happy with Sassy Hair by Joyce. Joyce is such a masterful stylist that I've followed her to her new location in Ellicott City, just up the road from the previous location. I definitely recommend her. I didn't even know it was possible to style my hair with gentle waves and volume until I went to her for a cut and style. She's great! Due to my work schedule, Ms. Joyce was able to get me in for a haircut and Korean perm for late afternoon with very short notice. She’s attentive, caring, extremely skilled, respectful, and passionate for what she does. She offered me various hairstyles and gave me suggestions on what would look best on me. Just for reference, I have Asian hair with medium to long hair length. Some of my hairs didn’t have equal length making it challenging to cut. Nevertheless, she took her time meticulously look over every angle and trimming my hair to make it look best. I urge for anyone who’s new to Baltimore to check it out! You won’t be disappointed! I’ve now become returning customer. Joyce is just as meticulous and detailed oriented as first day!

I highly recommend Joyce! I called and had an appointment scheduled that same day (Sunday) at 430 pm. It was the last appointment of the day. I was worried that might make her feel pressured and hurried to finish her day and go home. My worries were unfounded. She really took her time. She was clearly focused and made sure to give me the perfect haircut. She checked in with me, using a mirror to make sure the length she cut off was what I wanted. She was meticulous about evenly thinning out my hair. She even styled it after blow drying it. My shorter/thinned out hair feels great. I will definitely schedule with Joyce again when I’m due for a trim!

Joyce did an amazing job with my hair cut. She is very detail oriented and thorough, and took her time with my haircut. I did not feel rushed at all, and was very satisfied with the end result. The prices are also very reasonable. Will be back again even though I don’t live in the area anymore. Definitely 5 stars!

I tried to like my hair, but I just can’t. Very nice people, but the cut and color are bad and it’s not what I asked for. She cut it way too short, too. She went overboard with the thinning and I didn’t even ask for it to be thinned. I have dark hair, and I’ve dyed my hair light colors before, but she said I should go darker because lighter colors won’t take to my hair type. I asked for a dark copper or auburn and settled for a medium brown because of what she said, but the color that is actually showing only shows at the roots and ONLY in the light. It’s a super dark brown. The rest of my hair is black even though it was a full dye job. This was a waste of money. I wouldn’t recommend.

Horrible SERVICE!!! My second time in the salon and the lady is always over booked. The assistant was no help so basically running the salon all by herself, which i have no issue with but she had 3 clients at the same time took me 3 hours just to get a hair cut and decided not to get other services done and i had the appointment. While servicing me she was rushing, pulling my hair and smacked me with the blowdryer while rushing. Ruined my whole day. I understand people have bad days but this was not just once and didn’t offer no discount for bad service either. Long story short not going there again in my life PERIOD.
