I came in for services after taking down my locs that I had for three years. I have naturally type 4C hair, which has always been thick and curly after washing. I received a silk press and kept it in for approximately nine days. After one intense workout, my hair developed a strong odor that was unusual. About a week later, when I washed my hair, my natural curl pattern did not return at all. In addition, there is a persistent chemical smell that I believe may be from a relaxer or perm product, and I have been unable to remove it despite washing. I am very concerned that my hair may have been damaged due to the possible use of chemicals and/or excessive heat, especially since no relaxer or permanent chemical service was discussed or consented to. I am requesting clarification on what products and processes were used on my hair and would like this issue addressed promptly.

Everyone here is very nice, and I truly appreciated that part of the experience. My concern is that when I visited, my hair was very full and long, nearly waist-length. After having my hair done once, my texture changed. Now, when I wash it, my hair dries almost bone straight. At first, I thought the change might be temporary, possibly caused by a keratin-based shampoo. However, I’ve since tried Olaplex and K18, and my hair still has not reverted to its natural texture. For additional context I have had my hair straightened hundreds of times and this has never happened.

My daughter and I visited for the for time on Jan 16th. My daughter received services of a blow, out with curls. Today is Jan 24th and she still has curls in her hair! Her hair remains soft and shiny. Mind you my daughter is 12 yrs old, she is protecting her curls by wrapping her hair every night, but she isn't sleeping cute for those curls to last a week. She absolutely loved her experience! ALL the ladies were pleasant with beautiful smiles. We will definitely be back and next time Momma is going to get styled!! 😄

my first time coming & the customer service was horrendous, they don’t greet you they just look at you with a straight face until you speak i greeted them politely, i asked for a silk press with curls , the lady at the desk was rude she walked away to the bowl without saying anything.. ok so another stylist told me to go to the bowl , she was giving so much attitude i had to ask if she was okay , she said yes & then said something in spanish to another stylist and they laughed .. ok cool. Mind you i came for my birthday … after my hair was done it was so frizzy my hair is never frizzy after a silk press … the lady said its $70 i said why is it $70.. she asked me did i add on anything i said no , she spoke with a stylist and then proceeded to say its bc my hair is long … i said ok well yall seen how much hair i had when i walked in.. i said nobody mentioned that to me i was expecting to pay no more than $60 since the site says its $50 plus $5 for curls.. she said ok so how do you wanna pay.. i would never come here again & will be disputing the charge with my bank , i hate when ppl are rude for no reason & decided to add on extra money bc of the length of my hair when it doesn’t specify that anywhere on the site ! I also felt tingling during my wash & it’s almost like they added something else to the shampoo… that’s upsetting !

All this post talking about their curly hair got ruined after getting silk press 🙄🙄 don't come to a Dominican salons if you don't know how Dominicans take care of their hair if you don't want to damage your curly hair you have to use rollers and dry your hair that way two hours minimum depending on your hair length silk press for special occasions rollers otherwise. You want a silk press every week and expect no changes on your curly hair then you come here and complain about people being rude because they speak Spanish but you went to a Dominican salon we speak Spanish in Dominican Republic. If we laughing it doesn't have to be about you they just met you; tip, You aren't that important take the paranoia down to zero.

NATURAL GIRLS - DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! My sister has beautiful 4c hair that coils and springs and defies gravity. She decided to go here to get a regular silk press. After washing her hair, she discovered that these people clearly snuck a RELAXER into her hair - which a lot of these salons are notorious for. They may have gotten away with it in the past because natural kinky coily hair isn’t the most popular. BUT RELAXING A CLIENTS HAIR WITHOUT CONSENT IS ILLEGAL AND IMMORAL. We are PROUD of our beautiful hair and should be able to trust salons to not damage our curl patterns under the guise of getting "a silky sleek press". SHAME ON THIS BUSINESS AND DO BETTER. I had an amazing visit at Yasmin’s! Not only were they able to get my hair silky straight, my curls reverted back immediately. At first I was a bit worried because I take my natural hair very seriously especially with me having tighter curls and thick hair and I was pleased with the customer service and the price. $50 foot my hair to be straightened can’t be beat. Thank you Yasmin’s!
