Solo Salon - Elizabeth

This was my first time at Solo Salon, and I am definitely coming back! The reception greeted and checked me in so quickly. There is a very cute waiting room at the front, and my stylist Sophie came up to me right on my appointment time. Sophie was lovely, we had some great chats throughout my visit and she always made sure I was comfortable and knew what she was doing. I got an overall color, and haircut. Sophie then showed me some products she used on me at the front, and I purchased a shampoo & conditioner gift set, that came with a free leave in! I’m definitely coming back here and recommending Sophie to friends & family. The location of the salon is in the West Loop and really easy to get to! Love that I found a new salon spot 🙂

Danielle did an absolutely phenomenal job on my hair. I’d been with the same hairstylist for 15 years (who recently retired), so I was very nervous about finding someone new. Then I found Danielle, and WOW. After just a trim and a Kérastase treatment, my blowout lasted several days with zero touch-ups, no curling iron, no straightener, nothing. The hair held, looked polished, and felt healthy the entire time. I couldn’t be happier and feel so relieved to have found my new go-to.

Alexis is the BEST. I am so glad I found her. She made my hair look better than it has in years. She’s so kind and willing help you choose the right option for your hair to make it healthy and beautiful. I’ll be back again and again to see Alexis. Plus she’s just really nice and a joy to talk to.

This was my first time ever at a salon period & I can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on my entire freakin’ life. Priscilla was the ultimate guide throughout the whole experience; from making me feel comfortable the second I entered the doors to the moment we were done I left the salon OOZING confidence & style. She answered questions I didn’t even know I had & educated me about everything I’d need to know in regards to curated post service hair care (I had a shadow root dye service as she informed me), products involved during the process, & overall radiated her passion for hair. I believe the basis of success is to pour love into what you do & Priscilla embodies everything in a GREAT stylist. Will be back without a doubt alongside requesting Priscilla!!

Without doubt the best experience I've ever had! Without doubt, the cleanest place I've been to since the Pandemic started- yes cleaner than any PLACE (restaurant, store, salon, etc!). I felt welcomed & safe immediately. Everyone was friendly, professional, and well informed. My hair stylist Megan was lovely! She did magic to my hair (I only got a haircut), yet she treated my hair with so much care and gave it so much love! 💕 Will be back next month 💕 I definitely recommend this place to everyone reading these reviews. This was my first haircut at Solo and with Lisette as I just moved to the city! I would recommend Solo to everyone in the area, in fact, I already have my next appointment for a color this week! The salon is very chic and comfy and the customer service from the desk was top-notch as I tried to schedule last minute and around a medical appointment. Lisette is i credibly experienced and also very stylish—she knew exactly what to do with my crazy hair! She talked me through it, asked questions, and I love my cut!! Thanks to Solo for a wonderful experience! I think I found my Chicago salon—come and join me!!

I had high hopes when coming to the salon, especially to Colby, as the website stated that she is skilled at doing bobs. Unfortunately, she did an amazingly terrible job with my hair. From the beginning, I clearly asked to keep the front longer and to have no layers. She did exactly what I explicitly asked her not to do. What amazes me most is how confidently she continued cutting the front shorter even after I said, "Please don’t cut anything in front." This experience showed a clear incompetence in working with fine hair and an equally clear incompetence in listening to a client’s needs. My hair has never looked thinner or more unhealthy. The front has been artificially thinned with layers I did not ask for and that do not suit my hair type at all. Now I have no choice but to wait several months for my hair to grow back, which is extremely frustrating.
