I’ve sat with this for over a month, trying to give myself time before writing this, but I can’t shake how heartbroken I am over my haircut. I went in asking for a simple trim on my long hair, just to clean up the ends after years of growing out my shag. Instead, Emma cut off at least 6 inches and gave me a blunt cut I specifically said I didn’t want. When I asked if it still had the soft "V" shape, I believed she tried to fix it and left three thin, wispy pieces that honestly made it worse. Now I’m left to try to grow it out or hack more off trying to salvage what I was left with. My daughter got a pixie cut at the same appointment, and it’s super cute. So maybe she’s better with short styles, but if you have long hair, please avoid this stylist. She took something from me that I can’t just replace overnight. Not to mention the blatant gaslighting that my hair wasn’t "doing me any favors" the way it was and now it’s "more healthy". I don’t think she understood it was a shag and not damaged. As a disability parent, who lives off disability, my hair has always been one of the few things that felt like mine- I can’t afford to go buy products and vitamins to fix this problem. It was something I could control, something that made me feel like me and beautiful. Now it’s gone, and I’ve cried so many times trying to understand how this happened. I know it’s "just hair," but to me it was so much more than that, truly my hair was one thing in my life that was special to me. The pictures below were what I started with, what it looks like after and the weird ends in a ponytail, plus the message of what I asked for.

I have been going to Kris ever since I moved to Cheyenne 3 years ago. I love her so much. She has always listened to my needs and made me look and feel beautiful. I have very thick hair and she has done so well with it. She listens to my needs and my wants and delivers every time. I’m so happy to have found her here and am able to have a stylists to return to when I need it. This last visit I got a cut, some lowlights added without bleaching my hair and my eyebrows waxed. Then styled at the end. She truly delivers the best service every time! I am never disappointed.

I’ve been going to Kris for years, and she never disappoints! She consistently delivers amazing results while keeping my hair healthy and beautiful. She always checks in to make sure I’m 100% happy with the final look and goes above and beyond every time. Kris truly cares about her clients, and it’s such a joy to know her. Whether it’s my color, cut, or a treatment, I’ve loved every service/outcome. I highly recommend Kris!

Kris is the best hairstylist I have ever had and I am 60 years old so have had a lot!!!!!!!!!! With her encouragement and knowledge my hair is in the best condition it has ever been. The appointment I had yesterday was basically hairstylist choice (been gong through a rough time and needed a definite uplift). My hair is amazing, I cannot stop looking at it in the mirror and feeling it. She did a completely new shade of blond, instead of honey, yellow type color, she went with a white blonde and OH MY!!!!!!!! It is perfect and matches my skin tone. To think I have been requesting it wrong for so very long. Kris really is amazing.

I get my haircuts done by the very talented Emma Tolin. She has given me the best haircuts I've ever had. I leave that salon feeling so confirmed in who I am. I think almost anyone with long feminine hair, and I mean anyone ;), will love her. She is open minded and amazing at her job.

I had a wonderful experience with Emma! She gave me a much-needed cut, along with the exact balayage color I was hoping for. I've struggled to find a salon in Cheyenne that I'm happy with, but it looks like Zola Salon will be my new home!
