Lava Salon - Avondale

Went into Lava Salon for the first time and was completely blown away! As soon as I walked in I was greeted not only by one of the Assistants but also by the owner. Which was a plus for me to see the owner in their own salon working. I had the privilege of seeing Ashley and letting her work her magic on my hair! I have been burned by salons in the past and was very hesitant but Ashley reassured that everything would be okay. I gave Ashley full control of may hair and I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! Ashley is the most down to earth stylist that I have met. As soon as I sat in her chair, she was very attentive to me and want I wanted. She gave her honest opinion! Ashley talked me through everything we were going to do with my hair. Every time she would start something new, I was made aware of what was going on. I also appreciated that throughout my appointment, Ashley asked if I was okay or comfortable or needed anything. I was extremely shocked by that! I also liked that I didn’t feel like "another client" in the chair. Anyways, I could go on and on about Ashley and how great she is but I won’t. I will definitely be back to Lava Salon to see Ashley!!!!!

First of all, I wanna thank you to all the people who wrote the reviews here. I had no idea where to go because i just moved to Charleston 8months ago and reviews literally made me to come here Lava Salon. And i am so happy about my decision! I got layered haircut, and it came out exactly what i wanted. The hairstylist ‘Micaela’, she did amazing job even i showed her just one picture of this hairstyle. Also not only the hairstylist also front desk staff was very nice and friendly from reservation process to checkout! The location is surprisingly approachable to all the restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Inside/outside both interior design is catching my eyes too. No wonder why they are so professional and stylish!

I found Lava Salon-Avondale after a very bad mishap elsewhere. I called for an emergency color correction and was able to get in that same day!! Lauren took my call and made me feel at ease off the bat. She was attentive, polite, and worked quickly for an answer. Thank you!! Taylor is the absolute ANGEL that saved my hair! She is the MVP, Olympic Gold Medalist, Rockstar and all the other adjectives for AMAZING that fixed my "cheetah spots" on the crown of my head and gave me the hair I wanted! She listened to all of my concerns and was very thorough in explaining her plan of action. Thank you!!!! The salon itself is SO cool. I felt like I was getting my hair done in an art installation. Everyone there was so friendly and made wonderful conversation. I had an amazing experience and will certainly be back the next time I am in town! ❤️❤️

I love the vibe, atmosphere, and wonderful barber/stylists available. The price is right, no heavy sales pitches or pressure, and the decor is quirky and cool. I took my husband who got exactly what we wanted and couldn't be happier! I went yesterday for a full change from blonde to brunette for the fall. Fantastic experience! Absolutely in LOVE with the cut and color!! Taylor and Chris - thank you for amazing service!!!

I was a first time customer and was greeted and spoke with all the staff. Really neat vibe and loved my hair cut by Emma. They do great with curly hair, highly recommend if you’re looking for a stylist in the area.

I got my hair done with Ashley yesterday and I love it! I moved here in 2020 and I have been to several salons in the area including a few downtown and one on Johns Island and was never happy with the result. For the money I am spending I want to have hair that I am happy about. So happy I found Ashley! I am 100% going to be a repeat customer. She made my hair color look more natural and gave me a cut so my hair can move and isn’t so heavy. She used the right tone and didn’t give me big bleach streaks in the front like everyone else tries to pull on me. She is really knowledgeable and has great experience. Plus she’s just fun to talk to! The other girls in the salon were all super nice too. The energy here is good and made me feel comfortable! I love it!

I had an incredible experience at Lava Salon- Park Circle! My stylist was Brier and she took great care of me. After a bad experience elsewhere that kept me away from salons for almost 2 years, she calmed my nerves and really made me feel like my hair was in the hands of a caring and knowledgeable expert.
