Genesis, A Styling Lounge

I just had a fantastic experience with Sonja. I was not sure what to expect as I drove to the salon for the first time. Located conveniently just off 526 and Savannah Highway, behind the Iron Lotus and a golf place, I had no idea there was office space back there. Parking was easy right in front of the salon, and when I walked in, I was greeted with a beautiful sitting area, decorated in calming deep greens and plants. Sonja welcomed me warmly since this was my first time there and offered snacks or beverages. She walked me to her chair and asked me what I want done. We talked a little bit to clarify, and then she went to get the products prepped for the highlights and cut I requested. I felt comfortable and confident as she parted and foiled my hair. When processing time was done, she took care unwrapping and washing, as well as toning. The shampooing was heavenly, perfect temperature even though she checked in to be sure of my comfort multiple times. I loved the head massage, and especially that she massaged without scraping my scalp, because it allowed me to be genuinely relaxed. I was then indulged with a trim and blowout, and now I feel refreshed and ready to take on my week.

Emily is fabulous. I have had several stylist in the past 30 years. The ones I’ve liked have moved! Emily recently cut my hair short. Natural curl. And I love it and so many compliments in two days. I have been waiting for just the right cut for my thick hair. And she colored exactly how I wanted. Thank you Emily ❤️

Micaela is an artist! She is incredibly personable and her customer service is second to none. She has a way of putting you at ease and I feel right at home sitting in her chair. Most importantly.. she is incredibly talented. Her services are worth every penny and I feel like my best self after a visit with her. I first worked with her at a different salon and I am very happy that I followed her to Genesis. The salon has a very tranquil vibe and I’ve never enjoyed a more comfortable wash bowl experience than what you will receive at this salon. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new (or better) salon experience.

I highly recommend services at Genesis! Mel and Emily are wonderful stylists and will always have you leaving their salon looking and feeling great. As a chiropractor, I LOVE that the hair bowls do not put stress on the neck. This is a go-to place for anyone with neck pain because getting your hair washed will not hurt at all. Amazing salon!

I am so happy I came heathers page!! I have been getting my hair done for the last 7 months and I am beyond pleased! She is not only amazing at what she does but she listens and guides you into the right direction with your hair! I am OBSESSED with what she has done with my hair and most recently the cut that she has given me (per her recommendation)! I have been to a few salons in the charleston area and by far all the ladies to work at a genesis styling lounge are the BEST. It is a fun environment with knowledgeable, specialized, talented hair artist that deliver quality work. This is a hidden gem in the West Ashley area!!
