​Yoo-K Hair (#29) ​I can honestly say this was the best perm experience I have ever had. I’ve been coming to Yoo-K Hair for years, and there is a reason I keep coming back. ​The process was incredibly gentle and detailed. She goes the extra mile to protect you, using a face shield, headband, and hair wrap so that absolutely nothing irritates your skin or face. Sometimes salons try to rush you in and out, but not here. She took her time with every single step, ensuring my hair remained healthy and the curl pattern was exactly what I wanted. I currently live in Durham, but I happily make the drive out here just to get an appointment with her because I trust her skills completely. ​If you are looking for someone who genuinely cares about the health of your hair and pays attention to the small details, this is the place to go.

Bruce is great! He always does my hair perfectly, I normally get a partial highlight or a full.

I recently had a very disappointing experience with Johan, a hairstylist. Initially, I wasn't pleased with my haircut, but I decided to give it a few days to settle since a lot was cut off. Three days later, it was clear that the cut was not working for me. I contacted Johan to ask if he could fix it by shortening the back so it would blend better with the front. This seemed like a simple and reasonable request, not uncommon in the industry. To my surprise, Johan responded with a very long and unprofessional message. He outright refused to fix my hair and suggested that I go somewhere else instead. He defensively insisted that his work was fine, but as a client, I believe I am the judge of that. The lack of accountability and refusal to provide proper customer service is astonishing. I am still in disbelief over this experience and would caution others about the unprofessional behavior.

Hair By Elba - back right of the salon once you enter, she is awesome, I've been with her for years and I absolutely love her. Had not been able to visit her for a couple of years and I knew my hair was a mess but she literally plucked what I'd hoped for out of my head and made it a reality. Not sure I'll ever trust anyone else with my hair as much as I trust her - you, Elba, are awesome ❤️

Nikki is amazing. She easily handled my bra step length natural 4c hair without tugging, without using harsh chemicals and without passing the flat iron more than twice in each section. I hadn’t flat iron my hair in years so it was very coarse and curly and she made it look effortless. My hair lasted 3 weeks in the NC heat with little maintenance. All I did was wrap it and oil the ends every night. Now my edges are fuzzing and I’ll be returning for another session!!
