Kinetic, Brooklyn’s Hair Studio

Warm, welcoming studio and stylists. Gabby transformed my hair, taking the time to carve and sculpt out its dormant waves, and really seemed to understand its texture and potential. I've never had a cut that brings out my hair's natural volume and movement like this. It was the unexpected mood lift I needed this winter, and I can't wait to come back when it's time to freshen up.

Jen (Jinx) has been my girlie for my very thick, curly hair for a couple years now. I have traveled different places to where she is because of her amazing attention to detail, talent and not to mention warm and loving personality. When I found out she was coming closer to my neighborhood I needed to book an appointment immediately. She’s truly such an amazing stylist and the experience was the most fun. Go to her for all your hair needs, seriously.

TL;DR: Nathalie is the best in the biz, does exceptional work, and has built a very inviting, inclusive space. Nathalie is truly a cut above (no pun intended). Not only does she give the most iconic haircuts, but I always feel like I’m talking to an old friend when I’m there. She has an uncanny way of guiding me towards styles that look like they’d be complex to maintain and replicate at home, but always end up being SO manageable—and, importantly, look equally amazing whether I wear my hair wavy/curly or blow it dry straight. I also love that Nathalie’s work extends beyond hair—she has been extremely intentional about creating a warm, safe, and inclusive space for all Kinetic clients (especially the LGBTQIA+ community). Lastly, her dog Joey is a certified angel baby and will always jump on my lap for a big snuggle, which on its own is a 10/10 experience.

This review is for the girlies! Book with Jen Jinx. I have been following her for 2 years. She listens to your hair goals and also studies your hair to give you a realistic style. My curls!!! Plus I like to be in a warm environment. Me and my gal booked an appointment together and had the most fun. Of all the places I've booked with her, this is her best space.

My experience at Kinetic was awesome! I was booked with Madeline who bleached and toned my root growth. She treated my head delicately while still also being precise. I was in and out of the salon in under 3 hours- awesome!! The entire staff is super welcoming and easy going. Highly recommend!

I booked a new client bang trim and Madeline went above and beyond! The appointment was scheduled for 15 minutes but she generously spent longer than that with me talking through what I wanted and my concerns, and educating me about styling. I get nervous about changing my hair so I appreciated her kindness and patience so much. I also appreciated that she mentioned she used to work at a salon for thin/fine hair which is what I have.

Y'all have got to get your haircut by Gabby, she's amazing!! Managed to fix some buildup and low porosity around my scalp, really focusing on the health of my hair throughout the cut, and did a great job with layers + adding volume to my curls. She was super attentive and knowledgeable, and I actually left the salon feeling like she nailed what I was going for. It's always a bit nerve wracking to get your hair done by a new stylist, but Gabby earned me as a new client! Also just like a great environment and very welcoming--- thanks Gabby!
