Kimberly is hands down heaven-sent. I could cry while writing this review. I was abroad for a year and a half and managed to find a wonderful stylist who helped my hair grow. She also introduced me to keratin treatments that were free of formaldehyde. Upon my return in April, I took my time before finding another stylist, as I was afraid of damaging the growth. I decided to give another salon owner a try and got a keratin treatment. The stylist (not from Body & Soul) was very kind and friendly, but unfortunately used a keratin treatment with formaldehyde that was too harsh for my hair. After that experience, I lost my curl pattern, and my hair remained straight even after washing. This discouraged me greatly, so I decided to give salons a break. Fast forward a few months later, I felt my hair needed some extra TLC and decided to pray and ask God to send me the right stylist, one who could be attentive to my hair’s needs, goals, and more. I wanted someone who was passionate about their work rather than just experienced. I found Body & Soul on Google and immediately felt peace about it. I booked an appointment and was impressed from the moment I arrived. The salon was beautiful, and the atmosphere was calm, professional, and peaceful. Kimberly took her time to understand my hair’s needs (and she even called me before our appointment to discuss the state of my hair as part of her preparation, talk about commitment!). I booked her for a silk press, Olaplex treatment, and trim. She recommended a treatment that would help revitalize the bonds of my hair more efficiently (based on my needs) than Olaplex, and I took her advice. From the moment she shampooed my hair, she was gentle, careful, and incredibly mindful - and my hair isn’t the easiest to manage! Once finished, one of the other stylists, Brandy, walked over and asked if I’d like to take a small affirmation from their affirmation jar. The affirmations said: "I walk by faith, not by sight." and "Self-worth is what I thrive on." I knew I was in the right place - to me, that was God’s confirmation. In the end, my silk press was unbelievably beautiful. I was beyond happy. I purchased a few products Kimberly recommended to help restore my hair, and she even told me I could contact her anytime I had questions, even after my upcoming move out of state. I love this place, I love the staff, and I truly appreciate Kimberly for being so welcoming. I will forever support this salon. 💕 P.S. I had the worst experience. I asked for 2 braids and it was not pretty at all. I am so disappointed because i had high expectations from this place then for the staff to complement me once my hair was done was even more horrible and offensive. They added 2 totally different colored hair that did not match at all. I was looking like my great auntie. They were polite but the service was horrible 😒 😤.

Dee is the only hairstylist I trust! She is incredibly talented and will always do you right. She listened to what I wanted and also told me what my hair needed- my hair has never looked better! She is very kind hearted and will take full care of you. Very grateful I found her!

My favorite hair salon to go to! All the workers are so nice and make you feel at home. Your offered water throughout the whole appointment and getting hair washed is included in the service, which is really hard to find these days. No matter what style you get, your hair will always look how you wanted. Amazing salon!

I'm a 4C girlie and took my time to research which Black hair care salon I wanted to visit in Brooklyn. So glad I chose Body & Soul Hair Salon! Kim squeezed me in last minute due to me needing my hair done for my graduation. I was so appreciative! Kim provided me hair care and maintenance tips and provided my hair TLC! I got a wash, deep conditioner, blow dry, silk press and trim. My hair is flowing and healthier now! And my silk press is still going strong after a week and 2 days! I would definitely recommend this salon and Kim for their hair care! I can't wait to get my hair dyed next 😊.

The stylist was kind, professional, and did an amazing job with my first-time hair dye — I got an ombre so my roots stayed healthy in case my hair couldn’t handle the bleach.My hair still feels healthy with no difference in texture. The salon is beautiful and definitely natural hair girl friendly. She genuinely cares about her clients and their hair’s health. The experience was fun, and I’m definitely a lifetime client lol!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I brought my mom in for a birthday haircut, and she was treated with so much care and kindness. They listened to exactly what she wanted and made her feel beautiful on her special day. The cut turned out perfect, and the whole experience was genuinely thoughtful. Thank you Queenie for helping make her birthday feel extra special!
