I had a great experience with this salon, every part of it. It started with a phone call about getting a perm and she instructed me to continue our contact through instagram so I could send pics. After review, she advised me to wait a year for a perm, but continue deep conditioning treatments. I was impressed that she was thinking of the heath of my hair and giving me advice that wasn’t solely based in profits. I needed a trim before Lunar New Year, so I booked with a stylist I remember having a good experience from one of the only haircuts I’ve had professionally done in the past six or so years. Kristina G. Surprisingly she remembered me too and it was just as I remembered. She is a very gentle person who works with efficiency. We had a brief consult before she dived right in, I was a little shocked when she was done because it was so quick, and I did have a couple notes which she again executed with deft efficiency. I am happy with how it came out, my hair feels healthy! The whole staff is kind and welcoming, the owner swung by and chatted for a moment, plus the receptionist made me a delicious coffee. Lastly, as I was settling up, the receptionist asked me to sign a petition to reassign focus in the shopping center their business is in. It’s an important cause, I like having this business in my community and I hope they get the support they seek.

Very welcoming enviroment! I recently moved to the Riverdale area and was in search of a new hair salon. I ruined my hair with microbeaded hair extensions and have been extremely insecure with the little hair I had left- to the point where I didnt want to step into a hair salon at all. Ultimately, I took a chance and found this local neighborhood salon. I walked in and expressed that I needed a big chop, so that I could begin growing my hair out from scratch essentally. Not once did I feel judged or insecure while in there about the amount of damage I had done to my hair. I was accommodated (now twice) without an appointment and never felt rushed or brushed off since my hair now is really short and needs a lot of TLC. Both times, Miranda cut and blow dried my hair. She handled my fine wavy hairwith such care since my hair is fragile and uneven from the damage I put it through. She is so kind and reassuring, which was consistent both times I came in for a haircut. Honestly, ALL the girls are receptive with all of my needs in terms of cut and style too, everyone seems to work together and help each other out at this salon. Even the wash girls took their time, made sure the water was at a comfortable temperature and even gave a nice little head massage. At my most recent visit I brought in clip-in extensions (only for a special occasion that I need to attend for one night) and they helped style them and blend into my hair so that I can feel my best at this special event ill be attending next week. For me, it is really about the attention to detail and I can truthfully say it is felt throughout the salon, from the front desk, the owner, stylists and hair washers. Overall, I'm very thankful that the salon offers a really welcoming enviorment and made me feel very comfortable rather than insecure about my hair. I definitely see a difference now that it has been 6 months without the microbead extensions. With lots of patience, a good chop and frequent trims, this salon seems to be my new go-to place for my new hair journey, which I am very excited about! I would definitely recommend this salon to family, friends and neighbors 🙂 !

Left feeling my hair styling was too messy and frizzy for $111 and overall just didn’t have that "polished" look I expect from salons. The woman doing it couldn’t properly section off my hair and had to be reminded to use hair oil at the end by one of the other hairstylists. Left a more detailed review before but I guess they deleted it.

Amazing service I love all the staff. They go above and beyond to meet your needs. I recommend them to all My friends and family. Special shout out to Yetta who has been my stylist for over 15 years. Christina is also my stylist and she is wonderful she listens to exactly what you want. My name is Leonor not Jose that’s my husband. He gets his hair cut with Marissa. She’s awesome too!

I had such a great experience at this salon! I came in with highlights that needed fixing, and my hair was completely transformed. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. Kristina did my hair and she was amazing! She really listened to what I wanted and worked her magic. I loved how the whole team made conversation and made me feel comfortable the entire time. Definitely coming back!

Absolutely love this place! I’ve gotten my hair cuts done by both Marisa and Kristina! Love and would definitely recommend both of them! I am so happy I found a salon with trustworthy stylists who listen carefully and never disappoint. The receptionist Julia is so welcoming, sweet, and makes the best coffees!!!

Loved my experience at A Touch of Sun and would return in a heartbeat. Receptionist was super friendly and helpful while booking over the phone. When I arrived I was greeted and my wonderful stylist Suzanne took excellent care of me. They have water and an espresso/coffee machine if you need it (I didn’t). We talked about what I was looking for and the owner also came by to assure my stylist of any concerns. It’s always a little leap of faith when trying a new salon, but I couldn’t have been happier with how my hair turned out. The color was beautiful and just what I wanted. The (long overdue) haircut was great, leaving my hair looking healthy after a great blow dry as well. I also loved that Suzanne listened to what I was looking to do with my hair and we worked together to get there. I hope she stays there a long time because she really was excellent. Happy to have found this gem of a salon 💜🙂
