Okay so where do I start. I rated them 2 stars because my daughter’s hair turned out cute, however the service there was crazy!!! I have never experienced anything like it so we booked last minute and when we arrived at the shop it was a foul smell in there, I assumed maybe because of the food but nope. When I started looking around it was all kinds of stuff all over the place like food, deodorant, hair, ibuprofen, toe nail clippers laundry etc. it almost look like they live there or something. So my husband dropped me off and before he left she said the price was 110 but some lady came into the shop pressed over 20$ one of the braiders owed her. The African lady looked at me and told me to give her 20$. I told her I got dropped off and my husband was coming back to pay shortly but she kept asking and said I could walk to the store down the street, let me remind you that this isn’t the safest neighborhood and it was getting dark. During this time she became persistent on me going to the store to get the money. The lady who came in irate about 20$ gave me a ride to the store so I ended up getting 140 out and giving the lady the 20 and 10 for gasoline, when I got back to the shop I gave the braided 90$ she said no no it’s 130 and I was like what??? We agreed on 110 and I really just rode with a stranger to the store and paid for gas annnndd paid you up front. I told her that I would have to call my husband for the 20 because I’m not going back out. It took the about 4 hours to do my daughters hair which was not bad and it turned out really cute. If you decide to use their services they are not professional at all!!! But they do a good job. I did wash my daughters braids because the lady was eating and was using her hands but cleanliness is close to godliness so I’m always going to make sure everything is clean lol I really never deal with anyone who isn’t professional and this place is definitely not professionally at all. The bathroom was dirty, the laundry area was dirty, they was watching an African soap opera that was borderline inappropriate. They move very slow, she lied about pricing, made me walk to a store, like nope I will never come back to that trap again lol I should have just took my daughter home and platted her hair myself lol. I was in there fighting for my life with the smell and everything. I’m surprised they are still operating under these conditions. Whew child, I could actually make a movie out of my experience because it was a mess!!!!! so Customer service 5/10 Cleanliness 1/10 Prices -high Location ghetto
I would not recommend Fatima to do any ones hair. She lied to me about the price. I called her to get a price and was told $80. I thought that was too good to be true. So I booked it and called back two days before to make sure she said $80 and she said yes. I told her I wanted box braids and she again said $80. My appointment was at 8:30a.m. and she shows up after 9:00a.m. She gets started and her sister comes in later and starts helping her with my hair. I'm feeling ok and went they are almost done with my hair she asks for the money. I pulled out $90 asking if she had change. She was like change? I said yes $80 and she said no no $180. Needless to say I was VERY upset. They would not finish my hair if I didn't pay more. I wish I could braid hair because I would have left with it the way it was. You live and learn and I would not be going back to this shop. Liars!!! The braids are nice.
Poor braids.different sizes.no consistency.the braids on the middle were bigger and most of the braids fell off in two days because she put oil on my hair and it slide off.too much loud talking in native language in my ears and over my head
I called on the 30th to see if they'll be open on the 31st and OB was really nice and said she was. I scheduled for cornrows in the front and box braids in the back to be done at 8am. I get to the place at 750 and they was closed so I figured she was on the way but 810 and she didn't show. I called the cell phone number posted outside the door and she said she have to put on clothes and will be there in 10-15 minutes. She get there at 830 and apologized so as frustrated as I was I appreciate her apologising. Didnt start braiding my hair till 845 and it hurts so bad from the first braid to the last. I also thought it will take 3-4 hours but it didnt. She didnt finish my hair till almost 3pm but overall I like it. It was so pretty but OMG it hurts so bad to the point where i was nauseous. I went to OB once before because the lady that usually braid my hair (Diva African Hair Braid in Hoover) wasnt going to be there so I was like I didnt have a bad experience at OB so what the hell let's do it. The last time I went to OB it didn't hurt that much but this time OMG!! Would I recommend her? Yes, shes really friendly and the end result is beautiful BUT if you're tender headed I wouldn't recommend her. Also, if you make an appointment in the morning like 1st thing in the morning, get there a few minutes early and call her so she'll get there on time. Once she got done, I had to rush home, change, and rushed to get to work by 4pm.
I absolutely hate my hair... My braids were bigger than i asked for, the front of my braids looked weird, they were uneven and no where as near as long as i wanted them. plus on top of all that she braid too tight. I went through so much pain to come straight home and take my hair down. I should've follwed my first mind and braided my own hair like i always do. On a good note, after i told the lady (Fatima) I didn't like my hair, she told me to come back in a week and she will redo my hair , but honestly I'm not going back. I won't ever go there again..
I just loooooooove Fatima. She has been doing my whole family hair for many years. She has reasonable prices too. I have never known for her to charge $80 for box braids. She is the only one I like in my head besides Fanta her sister. Fatima is now apart of my family because of the love she has shown to me and my family. She rocks and is the TRUTH 💋💋💋🍷
I'm giving 4 stars because they lied to me and my sister n law to lock us in to staying by saying the braider that was coming could not do Senegalese twist to justify why she was starting on someone else's hair. When after we were almost finish, another person came in and what happens the same braider who couldn't do Senegalese twist had to do them on the person who came in. Not only could she do them, she did them well. However, they have great prices and they do excellent work. Just don't lie to customers we are not stupid.
