Hiwot is amazing! I’ve been her client for 7+years. My hair looks great after each visit. It’s tricky to maintain healthy hair after frequently getting highlights but Hiwot takes a good care and balances high/low lights for a natural look. She is knowledgeable, professional and warm. What's also important for me is her studio. The way her studio is set up at Symmetry, you know you're not waiting long, it's quiet and very comforting. It makes you feel like you're the only one there and that's important when it comes to my hair. I feel she's only focused on me and not 5 clients at a time. I’ve been going to Hiwot for years, and she’s absolutely amazing! She’s so caring and goes above and beyond. She is very talented with color, and really listens to what you want. She always keeps my hair healthy and looking great. Whether it’s straight or curly styles like flexirods etc she’s got it. She’s also super quick without ever making it feel rushed. She once come in on her off day to do my hair for an event so that it would look fresh; also and helped a friend (nonclient) last minute when her own stylist canceled last min before an family photo shoot. I can’t recommend her enough! Bonus the salon is in a great location, metro accessible, easy to find parking, and around lots of restaurants etc.

Hiwot does an amazing at coloring hair for black women. I have been going to her for the last five years. I have not had too much damage for someone who bleaches their hair and goes blonde. She is caring and takes the time to do the style you want but also protect your hair!

I have been seeing Hiwot since 2019! I moved away 4 hours from the DC area in 2021 and still come back to see her at least once a year because I haven’t found anyone as good! My last local stylist said she couldn’t give me a stacked bob because I have too much hair but Hiwot has done it before and again today! Love her!!
