Shear Perfection Hair Salon Berkeley

I had choppy bangs and went in to get them fixed along with an overall trim. I was not satisfied with the result. They did not frame my face and did not resemble the reference picture. I have a cowlick near my hairline causing cutting my bangs to be a bit tricky, but it can be done. I’ve gone to other stylists who were able to give me even curtain bangs while styling my cowlick to make it look like there is none. I would say if you are in need of a very simple cut, you’ll probably be happy here given the other reviews but not for a correction cut (I went to Gay Hair Day to get my hair fixed after this and they did me right)

Great cuts and styling at an affordable price! The salon owner is so experienced and lovely -- she took the time to listen and respond to all my concerns, while being efficient and timely. The shop location is convenient and cozy, and out of the many Berkeley hair salons I've gone to, Shear Perfection is my top pick. The student discount is generous as well! I will be coming back for future haircuts.

Had a wonderful experience here! I got a pixie cut exactly as I wanted it (I have thick, straight hair). Lots of care and efficiency put into the cut. The Berkeley student discount is also very generous.

Ja is a terrific hair stylist. She's very friendly, talented, and affordable ... and she really listens to what you like and want. For example, she understands how to lightly trim my naturally wavy hair, which most stylists have no clue how to do correctly. And she's the best with all types of hair. Why even consider going anywhere else, where you'd spend much more and simply overpay for inferior results? As I like to say and recommend, "If you find someone this good, keep them forever."

I had a great experience at Shear Perfection! Ja is incredibly personable and friendly. I usually dislike small talk during things like haircuts, but I found myself chatting the whole time with her about fun, everyday things. The cut itself was fairly straightforward, short sides and back and a trim to the top (top-knot), so will update my review the next time I get an extensive cut.
