SaYu Hair Salon

Expect a humble family style salon, good professional care, and honest people. Based my children’s recommendations (college age, male and female), I transitioned my hair care from a San Francisco salon of a similar class to SaYu Hair Salon. The prices are affordable for a color and cut. I’ve used their services 5 times and it was good every time.

I asked for a trim and keep the same style. The lady cut it shorter than I’d like and I came out with a completely different hair style. She didn’t try to keep both sides of the hairstyle even. She was nice but I would go somewhere else.

I had a really great experience here! The haircut was high quality and the ladies were super friendly. Also, the prices were reasonable for Northside. I'd definitely recommend coming here for your haircuts!

The lady is a nice but incompetent hair stylist. Please trust the review that they will cut your hair very short no matter what reference you showed. I used my previous photo as a reference. The outcome was not close to what we discussed at all. I could say this is the first time as an adult that I almost cried when seeing myself after a haircut. Will never return and not recommend here at all. 🙁

Good place but they don’t stick to their hours it seems. I took this photo at 3:30 and there were a bunch of people sad they weren’t open outside.

EDIT: I moved out of the bay area and still come here for haircuts. She's great, cheap, quick, and detailed. I wish every barber was as good as her. Great prices. Quick and nice cuts. 25 for male 35 for female (30 if trim) .

Sayu gives the best hair cuts I have EVER had, and getting a haircut from Sammi is totally worth any wait in this first come, first serve place. I have somewhat challenging hair to cut, and she made my unruly hairstyle look neat and professional (men's cut). It was wonderful that the owner opened shop here, and it's been my go-to place for years ever since. Pro tip 1: Try to go during less busy times to avoid any wait. Pro tip 2: call in advance if you are wondering if it is a busy time. Pro tip 3: tip generously. This salon is great for men, women and kid cuts.
