I recently did a smoothing treatment and needed a cut because I previously had a pixie that’s growing out. Eliza cut my hair and completely understood the assignment - my concerns, and hair goals. She did an amazing job! I’m so glad I booked here. I will definitely get my hair cut from Theory again!

I had to get my hair fixed after a horrible balayage experience that ended up being awful highlights and not even close to balayage. Isabelle did an amazing job and took her time. She’s extremely honest and so helpful. I am very picky when it comes to my hair. So if you’re looking for an experience you can feel confident in don’t go any further!

I’ve been going to Theory for 9 years and seeing Teresita for 8. Teresita is amazing and I constantly get compliments on my highlights, even from other hair stylists! I’ve moved to the other side of Austin and still drive to Theory for my appointments because I trust Teresita and Theory so much.

I went to theory twice to get my hair fully highlighted. The first time I went, I didn’t get exactly what I wanted, but figured my stylist and I could achieve my goal in the sessions to come. During the next session, my hair felt quite brittle afterwards (which has never happened) but I wasn’t too concerned, since it only felt like that on a few pieces. About a week later, I went to get my hair cut at a different salon close to my job, and the stylist that cut my hair pointed out exactly how botched my hair was. It wasn’t even close to anything I had asked for, and my hair was incredibly damaged. My hair has bands on the strands because of the bad bleach job, and I can’t put my hair up without feeling self conscious. A bunch of the front pieces are fried off, but I wasn’t told of any such thing. I’ve been to many different hair dressers, have had my hair bleached many different times, and I’m not a picky client. As long as my hair looks good, I don’t care really what it looks like. But my hair is so messed up right now that Im insecure about the way others see my hair. Please don’t spend your money here. There are so many other places that can meet your hair needs.

I HAD GIVEN A 1 STAR - Very disappointed. PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING. I have been going to Theory for almost 3 years and it was great. Last time I went (2 weeks ago, 3/11/25) the stylist did not know how much an inch was. I asked for a shaggy haircut and to shorten by 4-5 inches and showed her pictures. Hair wash was very light, didn't even feel it. She did a 1-inch trim and asked me if I wanted side bangs, for the finish. I became very frustrated and asked her to let me leave. They made me pay $54!!!! I felt cheated, nothing was done. I left the salon looking exactly the way I went in! I had probably hurt her feelings and I am very sorry, it was not my intension. Maybe she is a brand new hairstylist and she needs more on-the-job training. But as it is now, I don't think that I will be going back there. ***** Two days later I was contacted and asked if I would go back for a re-do with a Masterstylist at no charge... I accepted. The hairstylist (Zee) was great and knew how to communicate and listen. She was understanding of my apprehensions. I showed her the pictures as I had done before. Hair wash was a real one! She started working and finally my head had a style!!! She also blow-dried it into a very pretty do! In conclusion, I really want to applaud their commitment to providing excellent service. They went way beyond the extra mile and I am very appreciative of their efforts. I had a great experience. Thanks Zee!!!! You are a very sweet person and definitely a Master at your craft!!!
