I’ve been here a few times and always go to Froggie. They’re super sweet and very gender-affirming. We always have nice convos while I’m getting my hair done. They also always offer drinks and snacks, which I really appreciate. In terms of my haircuts, they’ve done a fantastic job every time!! I get compliments even months after I have had my hair cut and/or dyed 🙂 they are great at doing whatever style I ask for and making it uniquely fit me. I’ve gone from shoulder to chin length a couple times, gotten peekaboo vibrant (with some money pieces), had my entire head shaved and dyed a vibrant color, and then came back for a shaping mullet after that buzz cut grew out. I’m absolutely in love their work and will keep going here for as long as I live in Athens!!! Oh, did I mention that I have curly hair??? It’s always so hard to find someone who can do that right and they always do <3

Froggie is literally amazing and magical. We have the best little convos and they are so attuned to being sensory friendly and check in a lot on how I'm doing, since I tend to get overstimulated during haircuts. They hold space for you, are goofy silly with you, and celebrate with you. Every time Froggie cuts my hair it's transformative magic, gender euphoria and soul opening, opening doors for new self-expression and self-perception kind of magic. Froggie is super gifted at what they do, is truly an artist, and is just a really cool person. In a big life transition they created and shared the most empathetic, open, and celebratory space with me. All the lil gremlins and trans people and gender creative artists and dreamers, go be immersed in Froggie's little creative universe for a minute. They're the best 🙂

Feels like I've been to almost every salon in Athens, but Chaparral is special. Jenny doesn't just cut my hair, she nurtures it. We always begin with a discussion about what I envision and then she explains how my hair is growing and what we can realistically do between what I've envisioned and what we've got to work with. I always leave with a haircut that I'm proud of - as well as a haircut that grows out amazingly well. It's like she knows how to map and chart the growth of my hair. I also love how Jenny has created a comfortable, inclusive, and welcoming salon that champions inclusivity, equality, and belonging. It feels like she picked up where (previous owner) Jo left off, and gave the salon a splash of sunshine from the Bay Area.

If I could give 100 stars, I would. Being eight months pregnant, working in victim services, and caring for three boys at home, I started feeling overwhelmed and defeated. My husband gifted me a 90-minute Transformational Haircut with Froggie Fresh as a self-care treat. Honestly, I didn’t realize how a simple change in my hair could have such a positive impact. Froggie listened carefully to my ideas and understood that my long, damaged hair, which hadn't been cut in years, was weighing me down physically and emotionally. Their kindness and understanding made me feel truly pampered; Froggie took the time to consult with me every step of the way. Their suggestions helped boost my confidence and gave me back a sense of dignity that I didn't realize was missing. I arrived at the salon exhausted and overwhelmed, but left feeling like a princess. Froggie's talent not only transformed my appearance but also uplifted my spirits. Now I feel refreshed, empowered, and hopeful. Ready to face a busy week of work and motherhood, all thanks to a caring, talented soul who made me feel seen and appreciated.

Froggie is my favorite stylist in the world! She is very skilled, has great taste, and is always gentle and patient to listen to your idea. She always dresses nicely and elegantly, which gives off a really wonderful vibe!
