Second time coming here and An Lei always does such an amazing job ❤️ he takes care of both me and my boyfriend and is quick, friendly, and very accommodating. Highly suggest anyone to come here!! He does beautiful work and so sweet!! We love it here.

My 2nd visit to An Lei! My first time about a year ago I asked for a root perm (more volume) and layered cut. It looked so good even growing out that I didn't need a haircut for a whole year. This time I asked for a loose wave perm and he delivered! He is very knowledgeable and experienced with hair design. He makes sure to educate you as a client if he thinks something would suit your face shape better. Also, he provides services at very affordable costs and adds thoughtful touches (like a Keratin treatment before my perm, snacks and coffee during). He also has a spare room for friends/family to relax while waiting for you. Since moving to the DMV from CA I have been looking for a consistent hairdresser and An Lei has not disappointed! You won't regret visiting him! I will be going back for all of my future hair needs

I’ve been going to An’lei for my hair color, and I’m so glad I found him. He really understands how to create tones that suit me—no red or brassy surprises, just beautiful, natural-looking color that lasts. Recently, I also got a root perm to add volume, and he nailed it. The lift looks great and feels effortless. What makes An’lei stand out, though, is his holistic approach—he doesn’t just think about the haircut or color in isolation. With his background in fashion, he considers how your hair will complement your overall style, wardrobe, and personality. He’s also incredibly kind and easy to talk to, with a fascinating life story that adds to the experience. I always leave feeling like I’ve been truly seen and taken care of—not just styled. An'lei is an incredibly talented professional who seems underpriced, honestly. He is detailed, careful to cut evenly and blend layers in multiple directions, and hair looked amazing even before any styling. Not to mention he is kind and very interesting (past career as a model in Japan, currently designs clothing he sends to Japan) and fun to talk to! I live in the District but will drive here for all future haircuts.

An'lei is so kind and detail-oriented! He brought my vision to life with just a few reference photos. He spent ample time cutting my hair, both wet and dry, to ensure that my hair came out perfect. He also provided guidance on what would suit my face and style best. He did an amazing job, and I will be returning! <3

An’Lei is an excellent hair stylist. He styled my hair to fit my face frame. Took time to explain what he needed to do to correct my last cut. I asked about high lights but he recommended that I not get them because it wouldn’t enhance my hair. He didn’t push products. I’ll be making another appointment with An’Lei.

He fixed my hair after getting a poor cut somewhere else. Very professional and detailed. Edit: After washing my hair and letting it fully dry I am able to see that my hair is significantly shorter than what I asked for. I asked for the cut to be evened out and that a MAX of 1 inch be cut to accomplish this; he cut 3-4 inches off my length. I was charged $70 for this haircut (it does not include shampoo, or a blow out) and now my hair is too short to even wear in a side braid (I wear a side braid everyday). He also used thinning shears all over my hair without asking if I wanted this beforehand. This created short strands that poke out when I try to braid my hair. For $70 elsewhere you can likely get your hair both shampooed and cut the correct length. I can cannot recommend this stylist.
