Ok-Soon's Oriental Food Shop

We had no experience at Ok-Soon’s Oriental Food Store because they are closed for business!

This store has been around since I can remember. 20 years ago it was a decent place to find Asian food items. Recently not so much. Everything was way past expired and covered in dust. The store was dark and cold. There was a very strong sewer smell throughout the the store as well. I feel bad because I would like to support a small local business but I don't feel comfortable using expired products. They only except cash or check. The owner is older and takes some time getting down to the store from his home.

Visited this place for the first time. Paid attention to the other reviews and it was epically bad, as expected. In spite of that, I enjoyed my visit to a quirky, strange place. However...I bought a bottle of soy paste. I couldn't find an expiration date (figured it was in Korean on the label). When, I got home, I peeled the price tag off and exposed the expiration date: 5/13/2010.

Not sure how anyone is giving this anything above two stars. We went on a Saturday afternoon and we went into a store with no shopkeeper, no heat and very little lighting. After a few minutes, the shop keeper came down but didn't say anything. We did have a few questions about things but his English must not have been good as there were just looks and nods. A lot of the stock in there was dusty and am pretty sure I saw mold on things. The freezers had some plain ziploc bags with unidentifiable things with price tags. Cash or check only so be ready for that if you brave it. The parking situation isn't ideal either, I for sure will not be returning

Probably the most fun I've ever had in a store. It's epically bad, most things are out of date, most stuff is unrecognizable. There was a dusty grimy brown jar with no label on it and a 3.99 price tag. I offered him a dollar just because I wanted to know what it was and he wanted the 3.99. It's still there. By the very fact of being the worst store in the world, the owner has made just a shopping experience you'll never forget if you take a look around.

Such a cute little shop. They have quite a few cute decorations for your house as well as Asian food (noodles ramen sauces etc) they have a small selection of frozen products as well. It is quite small but he has a pretty good selection for how small of a store it is. It is a cash or check only.

Growing up in the 70s the restaurant was great! They had a beef appetizer, if I remember correctly, that we loved. We would order 2 and eat one in the car on the way home. I have tried for decades to recreate and have even gone there but cannot figure out the recipe.
