Thai An Oriental Market

Fantastic selection of authentic ingredients from China and SE Asia. The store is large, clean, and organized. Also has a great selection of cooking utensils, pots and pans, and other household items. Reasonable prices. If you are looking to prepare non-western dishes, Thai-An will have everything that you need to make it authentic.

The staff here is super patient and friendly. There are delicious snacks and many varieties of instant noodles here. I like the "Dragonfly" brand "Seafood Flavor" noodles the best. They also sell cookware, serving dishes, eating dishes and utensils, and have a wide variety of frozen and refrigerated goods. They have a stunning variety of fish to choose from in the frozen section, as well as mung beans in the refrigerated section (both of which I can't find in chain grocery stores). They also sell in bulk for many items.

I shop at this store, but I am not so sure if I want to go back there after reading today's Eagle news. The news says: Thai An Oriental Market, 2425 S. Hillside, Suite 500 in Wichita — Fourteen violations on Dec. 2 during a routine inspection. Equipment including fryer and racks have a large build up of grease and food debris, moldy tomatoes, employee’s drink bottle was touching ice inside ice machine, time not marked on ready-to-eat cooked items, fish and crabs weren’t protected from contamination, tongs were within customer reach, several items weren’t labeled including whole chicken and fried tofu, dead and decomposing mice, dead flies, no sanitizer available, employee didn’t use sanitizer to clean table saw, mini bread rolls weren’t labeled, employee didn’t wash hands or change gloves between cleaning table saw and packaging raw fish, no paper towels at hand-washing sink, general level of cleanliness needs improvement, trash and old food scraps on floor under shelves and in kitchen prep area.

My go-to Asian grocery in Wichita. Always clean and organized with good selection. And they seem to be expanding their selection frequently. Sadly, I have been informed they are no longer able to get Filipino bagoong. I’m in a desperate search to find a supplier.

Cost me $78 for a Duran - it is hard like Rock - I have brought the same lot many times and is ok/ she think I must me a dame Duran expert know when it isn’t reap/ spent $78 for a few Rocks not editable at all , this is the last time i go there or spend any money there again. I will not buy anything @ this place - ever again

This place has alot of finds here, a very interesting AND COOL place. Certainly will continue to shop there when I'm in Wichita

My first time at this humongous Asian Market. I found a few things I hadn't been able to find previously. I enjoyed my trip there.
