Fish department doesn't use gloves and me and my family got sick after buying fish. Flies everywhere. Was denied a refund when we returned with the meat. Beware
Misrepresentation and Poor Customer Service I want to express my dissatisfaction with my recent experience at Food Town in West Palm Beach. Upon approaching the juice counter to place an order for two mixed natural juices (one small and one large), I was met with unprofessional and dismissive service. The employee working at the counter had her back turned and, despite clearly seeing us waiting, failed to acknowledge our presence or offer even a simple statement such as, "I will be with you in a moment." I was forced to ask, "Is anyone working here today?" before receiving acknowledgment. This lack of basic customer courtesy immediately set a negative tone. The larger issue, however, concerns the preparation and misrepresentation of the "mixed natural juice." The menu states that the juice includes five ingredients of choice. For the large juice, I selected green apples, beets, celery, ginger, and carrots. While preparing the juice, the employee added a disproportionately large amount of carrots compared to the other ingredients — including five large carrots initially — and then attempted to add even more. When I objected and clearly stated that I did not want additional carrots and preferred more beets or celery instead, I was informed that adding more beets or celery would require an extra charge. I find this completely unreasonable. I was not requesting additional ingredients beyond the five included in the mix. I was simply requesting a fair and balanced distribution of the ingredients I had already selected. The explanation given — including by a second employee and later confirmed by the manager — was that carrots must be added in greater quantity and that any adjustment toward the other selected ingredients would cost extra. This effectively results in a product that is overwhelmingly carrot-based, despite being marketed as a five-ingredient mixed juice. The final product tasted primarily like carrot juice with only a slight hint of the other ingredients. This practice appears misleading. A "mixed juice" with five selected ingredients should not be dominated by the least expensive ingredient while requiring customers to pay more for a reasonable balance of the others. At no point is it disclosed that one ingredient will be used disproportionately or that adjusting the balance of already-selected ingredients incurs additional charges. Additionally, the overall customer service was unacceptable. The dismissive attitude from staff, including management, reflects poorly on the organization and suggests a lack of accountability. I am requesting a written explanation of your ingredient policy, clarification on how mixed juices are proportioned, and how this practice aligns with fair consumer standards. If this matter is not addressed appropriately, I will consider escalating the issue to the appropriate consumer protection authorities. I look forward to your prompt response.
Bought fish from here one day, came home and cooked it and my whole family got sick. Came 2 days later to show the manager and she said that we should have came back the same day to get a refund. How could we do that when we ate the fish for dinner that night and had diarrhea the next 2 days? They don't use gloves in the seafood department while handling the meat. When they actually use gloves they keep on the same pair for hours while touching everything. How do we know? Because we we back to get pics and footage. Watch as the guys grab seafood and touch the customer counter button on the wall behind them. Watch the guys in the back and how they handle the seafood with no gloves. Flies hover around every. Beware of this place. I want to post the pics and video but this post wont let me.
Horrible customer service. They even sell rotten vegetable and grocery. When you come home & find out. It doesn’t matter if you call them or any thing. They won’t give you credit or refund. You have to throw your dollars in trash. That happened to me 3 times. No2: they practice discriminatory customer service. I caught some Spanish guy who work at their halal meat dept. they make friendship with other people outside the food town, they give them discounts when they come in food town. If you shop there make sure everything is right before you leave. Thanks
First impression was the store does have more variety for domestic and international foods (Caribbean, Asian, fresh meat, seafood, even live blue crab). But, ALL items are OVER PRICED! MANY items are 2 times to 3 times MORE EXPENSIVE! Even domestic items like Doritos and Coca-Cola are more than Publix prices! It may be the only location in Palm Beach County. But, it's not worth the trip for me to go often unless I really need an item only Foodtown carries which translates to once every 2 months. Also, many freezer and refrigerator units leak so there were yellow(maybe orange) pad strips to soak up water for the leaking units. When you first walk into the store, you can smell the Meat and seafood which is in the back of the store. Lastly, had a lengthy debate with the store staff about bringing in and using my Publix insulated bag Frozen / cold items. I explained to the young lady the bag is for food while I shop this large store which apparently was an old Winn-Dixie. I agreed I will not use the bag. 2 minutes later I'm greeted by some security person who proceeds to explain store policy I cannot bring the bag in. I responded I will not use the bag and I'm not going back to my car because I'm already into the store shopping especially when there were several people including my wife that have their own large purse bags and others carrying their large diaper bags, and my Publix insulated bag is clearly empty and obviously not being used crumpled under my arm. Finally, some manager of sorts, greets me and tells me the same thing about store policy. I responded with I am putting my Publix insulated bag inside of my wife's large purse and decided to cut our shopping trip short at this point because it was already 10:30pm. Only one door is available to enter and exit. West door closed! UPDATE 2nd IMPRESSION: As predicted, we went back to the store about 2 months later last week beginning November 2025. I did not bring my insulated bag in the store the store. (Although insulated bags are not an issue at Aldi, Publix, Costco, Winn Dixie, etc.) EVERYTHING was the SAME from our first first! Same smells, overpriced items, the strips to soak up water around the refrigerator and freezer units, etc. Bottom line only shop at this store for items you absolutely need and cannot get elsewhere... without bringing in your insulated bag. Lol
This place pretty much has anything that is hard to get. The aisles are organized by country. One issue is the employees are not very helpful. If you ask an employee where a certain item is, they Will not be able to help you find it. Some of them even pretend that they don't speak English. One time I asked a employee if they spoke English they pretended not to understand anything I was saying then I waived them and said come here. Then I showed them a package of meat that was sitting on a unrefrigerated area. Then all the sudden she spoke fluid English. They have an amazing produce departments. For example, they have cherymia fruit. They pretty much have every type of oil that you would ever need. They have plenty of parking.
A huge world food grocery store, today I was checking out Korean items, the items are from fast Eastern countries, Middle Eastern, south Asian (Indian) Caribbean islands. From fresh groceries (exotic fruits and vegetables) to packaged items. They also carry halal fresh meats (chicken, goat, lamb etc), all kinds of seafood counter and meats in ethnic styles. They also have hot foods as well and fresh juice counter including fresh sugarcane and Orange juices and don't forget their amazing Cuban coffee for just $1.49! Only CON or downside is to watch the expiry dates of the packaged goods. Over all great store and if you're a regular you'll love browsing the isles and even if you've never been, go check it out you'll find so many new things
