Market Basket

Great meat and bountiful produce selection. Prices are uneven. The featured sales are a value, but other, unadvertised/non-promotional items can be strictly retail or even higher. So, be wary of pricing overall and don't be lulled into thinking that this is a bargain store. Per the shopping experience, the place is always mobbed and the presence of so many carts careening throughout the aidles can be unnerving. In sum, it's a zoo. On a more positive note, the store is very clean, personnel are knowledgeable and helpful and the inventory is almost always bountiful. I do recommend Market Basket, but with a few reservations.

THIS STORE CAN BE PACKED BUT THEN YOU KNOW IT WILL BE STOCKED TO APPEASE THE SHOPPERS… I 💋 THIS STORE, I ALWAYS FIND SOMETHING NEW… MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE SPICE SECTION, PLEASE SELL KINDERS SPICES… FRESH COOKED FOOD IS WORTH THE WAIT… STEAK BOMB AND SOME WEDGES… THE TUNA FISH IS GOOD TOO, RED ONIONS & SALT AND PEPPER…😋😍

There are things that cannot be found anywhere else, such as still warm fresh French baguette with no added sugar, affordable sqeezed orange juice, and Greek powder sugar cookies. But I have had issues with meat, fish, and other foods that need refrigeration that didn't seem to have been kept cold all the time. So, five stars for selected things that alone make it worthwhile to come from far away but not many stars for their refrigeration practices.

My first trip to market basket. Retired folks are let in early. The store was practically empty at 7am. Decided to try MB after instacart screwed up a 200 dollar order. Definitely saved money shopping here.

One of the largest MarketBasket in the state and it’s very neatly maintained. Lot of fresh and ready to eat items available. Cafe is the best with all the cafe options in price friendly service. Variety of organic products in affordable prices. Lot of parking space and nearby other clothing stores and restaurants in the mall. They also have spirits and liquors at this location.

I usually enjoy shopping at Market Basket and appreciate the reasonable prices and product selection. However, my experience at the Waltham location has been more challenging. Like other locations, this store is very crowded, but the checkout lines move much more slowly here, resulting in a long wait. Additionally, the parking situation is complicated. The parking lot is often full, and it can be challenging to find a spot, sometimes requiring parking in other store lots that are farther away. Improvements to checkout efficiency and parking availability would significantly enhance the convenience of this location for customers.

Decent prices, but needs better upkeep and variety Market Basket in Waltham has some solid positives, but also a few drawbacks that keep it from being a five-star experience. On the plus side, prices are very competitive — great value for everyday groceries. They also have freshly baked bread, which is a nice touch, though the selection is pretty limited. Staff are generally helpful, and checkout lines move reasonably well. However, the store does get very crowded in the evenings, making it hard to navigate the aisles comfortably. The parking lot is hectic and often packed, which can be stressful. The store could use more frequent cleaning, especially during busy times — carts, floors, and some areas feel a bit neglected. Also, the fruit and produce selection could be better in terms of both variety and freshness. It’s a good place if you're looking to save money, but best to go earlier in the day to avoid the rush and get fresher picks.
