The H-E-B off 1604 is one of my favorite locations to stop at. The store is always clean and quiet, which makes shopping stress-free. The employees are consistently friendly and welcoming, and the shelves are always well-stocked with everything I’m looking for. This location rarely lets me down—it has just about everything I need. Plus, it’s in the perfect spot for me to swing by on my way to or from work, which makes it super convenient. Great store, great team!
So frustrated and disappointed at the lack of HEB values at this location. Items expired on the shelves, customer service and managers lack of urgency when told of items and to top it off…. Why keep a door open only to have the inner door locked and NO hours of operation on the doors. Do better! You’re embarrassing yourself.
Moving to texas , from minnesota and utilizing the services , including h e b I finally have some of the aisles memorized. The staff is more than lovely, very helpful.Professional and kind. Yesterday, when I was checking out in the self-service area, I began to feel kind of weird. It's a symptom I've had I don't know for a while, but yesterday just a little worse. And the guy asked me if I was okay and I said, I feel kind of weird, they got me a chair and a bottle of water. In a few minutes, I walked out of my car with them walking with me and carrying my groceries. What a team they have there. I was very thankful for the help with my groceries. And the care I received from these 2 employees. I don't remember the name, but I called today to thank them. And the person I talked to , which was a manager , said he knew who I was talking about , and he would relate the message. That it folks I'll be shopping often at Heb... I'm thankful
This is my usual HEB store and problems at this store are usually minimum to none. However, just a few hours ago this very morning I go in to return two items (Clorox Bleach & Mr Clean Lavender Cleaner) with a receipt. There were a few other items cleaning items already returned. And not that it should matter in this situation for a simple return but we've always used organic cleaning product and recently we've started to use chemical products like scented bleach, glade air freshener, and Mr Clean bc sometimes I want a scented cleaner. Unfortunately, recently my cat has become very sick and I felt that we should go back to organic cleaners so yes I've already been in to successfully return a few items such as Glade and a couple more (with the same receipt). I'm mentioning this because the Manager Jorge seemed to prejudge us bc certain items were already scratched off. I say prejudge because it wasn't just his demeaner but he actually accused me of already returning the items. This irritated me so much bc that would mean that I was dishonest in some way which isn't the case. I despise micro aggression with all of my being and definitely was micro aggresion. Also, I spend so much many at HEB that I should own stocks in the company, it's crazy. The problem was that though you can still read the receipt it would not scan; that part was faded. He gave me every excuse for this happening and they all sounded like offensive. He told me that the receipt was too old...then I should him the expiration date (which showed 2-24-26) but he wanted me to look at the purchase date NOT the expiration date. Then he said it didn't come from there and the items weren't on the receipt. I then showed him where to find it on the receipt on the the receipt. Then he said "Well, I cant even scan it because it's faded." Even faded YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE ITEMS ON THE RECEIPT! Why was it not scanning I cannot say because I do not work for HEB. I don't know if he put in the correct numbers when he did it manually because I obviously didn't want to take the items back from the beginning. So I don't even know if he attempted to put in the correct numbers on the receipt. Since he was suspicious of me, common sense would tell me that I should be of him. I don't know what he was up to. I did not have my card that I initially used with me in-store but I have it now and even though I returned the items with my ID and as he said "I'll only give you a gift card". I would like to be vindicated by having another (more tolerant & kinder) manager just humor me by scanning my debit card to see that the items were indeed purchased there. WHICH THEY WERE. I was very surprised by what happened because I AM a loyal shopper at this store and I do everything needed at HEB from pharmaceutical needs to the business center...I'm literally there no less than 3x's a week and sometimes twice in 1 day. I even recognized this person Jorge because I am familiar with ALL the usual employee faces. And though this was my first interaction with him, I've seen him greeting random customers and being nice so he knows how to be professional with others. Don't really know why that wasn't the case with us but I guess it happens that way sometimes. And listen, I get that things happen and people try different things to get over but when your only proof is not being able to scan a receipt and the writing is (faded) but clear why go to "You've already returned this"? It's short of accusing someone of stealing and it's offensive. And if I don't like service and I write a review I usually never reach out when they respond and give the option but PLEASE offer to speak with me because I send to much of my money AND time and that's not my character. I did not like that feeling whatsoever. And would really like to return with my card so they can just check that I am right. It's the least that can be done in a situation like this bc this person had already made his mind up about who we were to him. It's wrong, inexcusable, and not okay!
In the past I’ve given rave reviews to this location for the grilled chicken. NOT THIS TIME! Normally I wait to place my order when I see a new batch coming out. But there was a long line and I wanted to get home. What a freaking mistake. While giving my order for the sides, an employee boxed my chicken up before I had a chance to look at it. The grilled chicken I was given was DRY and TOUGH. Today for left overs it was like cutting up jerky. This chicken SHOULD NEVER been given out like that! The manager and staff should be retrained or replaced.
When I say I love my H-E-B this is what I mean! It’s my son’s birthday and I had his cake ready at the bakery. I didn’t have anyone able to pick it up for me and really didn’t want to take my son out. So I called to see if I could get the cake delivered and curbside worked it out and went above and beyond! I couldn’t be more grateful for all of you that made this happen. He loves his extra gifts and loves his cake! Thank you HEB🙏🏼🙏🏼 the time you took to just write a card for him! Just wow. Thank you for giving my son something to smile about. It meant so much to both of us.
I’m a regular at this H-E-B and usually enjoy the ease of navigation and friendly staff, but two ongoing issues consistently make shopping here more frustrating than it needs to be… 1. No red shopping baskets at the entrance – ever. I’d challenge any manager here to randomly go check your doors for baskets 5 times today. They won’t exist. Almost every single visit, both sets of doors are completely out of baskets. Customers have to walk all the way to the self-checkout area (sometimes weaving through long lines) just to grab one. This has been happening for months. The fix is simple: please purchase more baskets and ensure they’re returned to the front promptly. It’s a small investment that would remove a huge daily inconvenience for many of us. 2. Rotisserie chicken ("Flaming Bird") payment process feels outdated. Having to pay for the hot chicken separately at the flaming bird area, then pay again for the rest of my groceries at the register is inefficient and honestly feels a bit low-end for H-E-B’s usual standards. Most grocery chains allow the chicken to be scanned and paid for with everything else at any checkout lane. Updating this process would make grabbing a quick dinner much smoother. These are minor operational fixes, but addressing them would easily bump this location from good to great. Appreciate everything the team does day-to-day hope to see these small improvements soon.
