Tokyo Central PCH Torrance

A gem I finally visited to grab bento and sushi. The quality and selection are way better than mitsuwa and other Japanese grocery stores on the west side. I ended up getting a deluxe sushi tray, poke salad, and two bento boxes. The sushi try has many premium ingredients like squid and clams. The poke is also spot on and flavorful. The four items costed $65 reasonably and can definitely last for 2 meals for two people.

One of my favorite spots for Asian groceries! Huge selection of food and daily goods from Japan and other Asian countries. Prices are reasonable, and they even have fancy sushi platters and premium Wagyu beef imported from Japan. It’s such a fun place to just walk around and explore — though I always end up buying way more than I planned!

I love this grocery. It is so large and has the most Japanese products on the shelves. It kind of gives a bit of Donki vibes in a way lol. The hot food section is quite impressive as well. Another you’ll like is the small food court. It is small , maybe only 4 booths, but one of them has an incredible authentic ramen offering.

We love Tokyo Central in general and this new location next to Best Buy at PCH and Hawthorne is absolutely one of our new favorite places to shop. The selection is huge.. prepared sushi and sashimi choices stretch on for miles.. they have hot food and tons of choices there as well. The food court is just being built out and looks promising so far. The meat department is also huge and extensive.. they have your covered from any BBQ you could want.. you can get the premium Kobe and heritage breeds of pork and beef for Korean BBQ style or whatever you have in mind.. they have it. One of the best parts of this store are the specialty and imported items you can't find elsewhere and you don't want to order online.. they just are not fresh and well stocked.. and with the big store you get tons of choices.. don't get us wrong we love our little Sepulveda branch but this location is next level. This store has only been here for 6 months and they keep adding more and more... and we keep coming back for more.

I really love Tokyo Central — it’s such a fun, clean store with an incredible variety of products. However, I do want to share two concerns that I hope management will take seriously. First, the allergen labeling on prepared foods needs improvement. Many items just say "contains soy," but that can mean soy sauce made with wheat, which isn’t safe for people with Celiac disease or gluten intolerance. I got very sick after eating a ramen egg onigiri because it wasn’t clear that it contained gluten. Switching to gluten-free soy sauce (tamari) or labeling wheat-containing soy sauce properly would make a big difference for customers with dietary restrictions. Second, I noticed a food stand employee use the restroom and leave without washing their hands. I really hope there’s a handwashing station in the prep area, but it was still concerning to see. I truly love this store and hope they improve their food safety and labeling so I can restore my faith and enjoy their amazing food again.

Parking is plentiful even on busy weekends. This store is clean and bright. Items are nearly organized. The store is big and spacious. Cashiers are friendly and polite. There's a small food court inside with restrooms. The seating is very limited. There is a cold and hot water dispenser next to the utensil area near the entrance as you walk in. Sashimi is very fresh, and tastes almost like restaurant quality.

If you're a fan of Japanese cuisine, this market is a dream come true. The store is immaculately organized, making it easy to browse through aisles of authentic snacks, sauces, and specialty ingredients. What really sets it apart, though, is the huge selection of ready-to-eat meals—bento boxes, sushi, onigiri, ramen, and more, all fresh and delicious. Whether you're stocking up your pantry or grabbing a quick bite, this place delivers. Can’t recommend it enough!
