The seafood section is especially impressive, with live fish tanks and a wide selection of fresh options for those who love cooking from scratch. Beware of buying vegetables require weighing at the cashier. I was OVERCHARGED by around 1 lb each of vegetables item, total of around $10 overcharges. I didn’t check my receipt after I left, and confirmed the weight with 2 scales at home. The meat department weight was correct. Very disappointed.

The prices were good, especially on sale or promo items. Pricing for some items was a challenge to find, and aisles were just a bit tight. The environment felt like a genuine Asian market you might have to go to China Town for in most cities. I loved the selection but not so much some of the employees. Side note: I had some more photos to share of specifically the seafood area, which my father in law and I were impressed by, but an employee in a green vest came over and singled me out for taking photos and asked me to delete them (which I did), citing that her boss does not allow that. I will point out that there were others taking photos as well, but only I was approached. So just imagine a wide variety of fish, shellfish, and other assorted seafood on ice or even in tanks.

Pretty big Asian market. Plenty of fresh vegetables only found in Asian markets. They have a large meat section as well. Lots of noodles options, frozen meats, canned and bottled spices. Easy parking located in safe neighborhood.

They have rearranged displays. The last time I visited them the variety of rice were displayed on the right side of the mart just as you enter. But now they have placed them where they used to have the snack bar. I missed their roasted pork they used to sell by pound and their small bakery displays. Overall, seafoods, noodles, fresh vegetables are still good to buy. I was looking for red lotus paste as I wanted to try making moon cakes but they don’t have it.

I have been going to Food Town for the past five years and recently moved and New York Mart became closer to my house. I have been going to the New York Mart for 2 years and had been very happy with their costumer service and food quality there. Their bread is delicious I will always get some every time I go. They also have great fresh drinks. Love everything they have and everyone that works there!
