Baghdad Market in Sterling Heights is hands‑down one of the best spots for fresh sandwiches, meats, and authentic Iraqi groceries. Their food tastes just like home — everything is fresh, flavorful, and prepared with real care. The chicken shawarma and falafel are top notch — perfectly seasoned, juicy, and always served hot. You can smell the freshness as soon as you walk in, and the bakery section is incredible. The fresh bread and pastries coming straight out of the oven are unbeatable (just like in the photo!). The store is clean, well‑stocked, and the selection of Iraqi and Middle Eastern ingredients is excellent. Whether you're there for a quick sandwich, fresh meat, or grocery shopping, you’ll never be disappointed. Highly recommend to anyone who loves authentic Middle Eastern food! Note : be aware the fried eggplant in counter may be too oily !!

Services and food is always wonderful have been coming here for years and see a market opening up across the street. Don’t let this place take over from a family business that has been around for years!! Stand by them.

Food is good but the customer serves is bad. Called and placed an order and when my husband when to pick it up they charged him for the tray that was holding the falafel In.

Bought chicken breast from this place today, on my way home (10 min drive) my car smelled terrible. I went home, cleaned out my car and couldn't find anything. I look at the chicken and it's been double tagged. The chicken smelled rancid. I returned to the store, the refunded me but are very dismissive about the situation, not even a single sorry. Just be careful buying from this store. What a shame.

I was told this place was a must-try and honestly, was reluctant to go. This place is a carry out only "restaurant" inside a market. Beef shawarma was amazing. Beef kabob is what they are famous for. It was good. Their prices are reasonable too. So far one of my favorite place to get a wrap. The rice and stew were pretty bland. The actual market did kind of steer me away but I tried their food anyway. I can’t speak to the produce of the market because it does not look like a place I would probably ever get anything from.

Brought the bread on picture two days ago when I opened next day it was all molded inside the bread , I couldn’t return that day and I came today to return they said I should bring same day .. how could I know it was bad same day while I opened it next day !! And that also said it never gets in their store and it should be kept in refrigerator while they keep it in room temperature in their store and in that case how could they guarantee it was not bad in their store .. I agree that may be it was not that bad as it looks now after 2 days but it was certainly bad .. I always buy this bread and sometimes I buy for a week at a time and those doesn’t go bad .. I am for sure not coming back to this store again
