This is a small market selling Nepali and Indian subcontinent ingredients. They have a solid selection of grains and spices which can’t be purchased at the big grocery store up the road. They also sell some cooking and washing utensils (rice cookers, pots, plastic tubs). They also sell coats and clothing. There is also some Buddhist religious paraphernalia as well. It’s not a pretty place, it’s a little cluttered, but they have a large selection and I was able to pick up some spices I needed at a decent price. One suggestion, other reviewers have mentioned that things aren’t labeled with prices, I just asked the cashier. He was really helpful.
I was disappointed to find many expired products here. Some were 7 to 8 months past their expiration date. This is unacceptable for any store, especially one representing our culture. As a Nepali, it pains me to say this, but Indian stores in the area currently offer better value and fresher products. Sadly, we still do not have a reliable traditional Nepali store in Minneapolis.
I recently visited Nepali Market in Saint Paul and was impressed with their extensive collection of Nepali groceries. While the selection of fresh produce is not extensive, the store makes up for it with an abundance of authentic Nepali products. One notable item they offer is paan with "goua," a typical Nepali-Assamese-Bengali betel nut, which adds a distinct flavor. During the months of October and November, they import fresh "lapse" from Nepal, which is a delightful seasonal treat for Nepali cuisine enthusiasts. Overall, it is a pleasant grocery store with a friendly owner named Shiva, who is always willing to assist customers. Shiva's dedication to customer satisfaction was evident when I needed to return an item that my wife didn't like; he promptly issued a refund, which is not a common practice among many Indian groceries in the Twin Cities. To summarize, Nepali Market in Saint Paul offers a diverse range of Nepali groceries and authentic products, although the fresh produce selection is somewhat limited. With unique offerings like paan with "goua" and seasonal imports from Nepal, it's a worthwhile destination for anyone seeking Nepali ingredients. The store's friendly atmosphere and Shiva's commitment to customer satisfaction make it a top choice for Nepali grocery shopping.

So I was walking down by the street. I felt like I wanna eat a pan (Bittlenut). I stopped by this market. This market has a different varieties of Nepali products that others don't. I really like it. Stuff from cultural products, lunches, utensils, and beverages are available at this market. I recommend others to go to this market to shop.
