When you're buying fresh, whole fish, look it in the eye. Seriously, the condition of the eye should tell you whether you want to buy anything in that seafood department. It should appear clear and full with no sign of shrinkage. The eyes on these "fresh" specimens were completely sunken. And what of fish fillets and other seafood items not so easily checked for freshness? Do you really want to find out?

Went in for the first time tonight with my husband. We wanted to make pho for dinner, they had EVERYTHING you could need. The staff at the register were very kind and helpful. She helped me run through my ingredient list and made sure I had it all. Great prices and we found some of our favorite drinks and snacks. We marveled at the wall of noodles. Happy to have gone on and will definitely use this and my go to.

I have been shopping at YIMS Market for about 10 years, and the quality of their products has always been excellent. The owners and all of the staff are consistently kind and welcoming. Two weeks ago, I stopped by here not realizing that my car had already been damaged elsewhere, and I received an incredible amount of help from them. The owner’s parents and the owner himself went out of their way to take care of us — they gave us lunch, provided a comfortable place to wait, and stayed with us during the three hours it took for the tow truck, police, and fire department to arrive. Their kindness and hospitality were unforgettable, and I truly felt cared for. I am very grateful to them and feel bad for the trouble caused, but this experience confirmed once again how special this market is. I will continue to shop only at YIMS Market.

Cute store with almost any Asian food, product, or ingredient you could need. Got Mochi Ice Cream and Fish Cakes, very good.

Very bad experience. Very rude and condescending Manager/Owner. Bought long beans on Monday. It was wrapped in bunches with Saran Wrap by the store. I opened it on Thursday the same week. The beans were moldy and not edible.. Brought it back to the store Friday the next day. No exchange or refund ($2.99). I was told by the Manager/Owner that I should have checked the beans carefully ( should I have opened the wrapper) before buying or buy it a day before I cooked it. Who does that? Never shop there ever again.

It was ok. I came there looking specifically for honey butter chips and they did not have them. I ended up buying sweet rice flour and I was on my way. I would like to see a larger drink selection (especially on hot days), but other than that, a great place to visit. Edited 8/12/2025 I went back and they had Honey Butter Chips! They are soooo good. I also like they have quick items in the back to grab for lunch. Their tofu is delicious and very affordable.

I go here almost everyday for the Korean Kim Bab, it’s the best in town and a super reasonable price. They’re my favorite Asian market and stop in Sparks AND Reno. It’s a great shop and the employees are always super friendly and kind too! 10/10 I will always recommend this place.
