Seriously? $29/lbs for these sad looking NY strips!? They look more like Select Grade than Choice! Photo taken on 01/14/2026.

I went to this store to get a $5 Friday sub sandwich and they were out. I asked the girl behind the deli counter and she said they were sold out! This was noon time.??? 🤔 She didn't even say that they could make more and come back later. Very poor customer service!!

A Safeway employee was standing two feet from me and I had to ask if she worked at the store as she breezed by me ignoring me. I wish I could give a minus score. The security guard was responsive as well as the deli lady. The lady in black not at all. I won't be coming back here ever again. I did a self-checkout so no cashier rating today

This is a review of the Deli, not the store. The store is great, and I have no issues with it. Today I tried getting two sandwiches. While standing in front of the deli, a lady from the back kitchen came out, looked at me once, said nothing, and went back into the kitchen. She called another lady to come out. This second lady comes out, licks her fingers, and reaches for gloves. She could not open the glove she grabbed from a box, so she pinched it to open. I asked her to wash her hands, so she looked at me and rolled her eyes. Both bad customer service and bad hygiene.

Have been going here since I was little when it was still pack and save, I’ve always known everything to be good up until a few months ago. Every time I go now I have to check expiration dates because I have left multiple times with spoiled items, expiration dates from six months ago or rotten food in sealed packages. The people are still nice, and I have reported it multiple times, but still keep finding expired foods on shelves. Please be careful and check your groceries before you pay or if someone shops for you have them check everything first!! These pictures are from my trip yesterday expired cheese from May.

7/23/25 Broken shopping carts still! I can’t find any cart that doesn’t roll freely. I ask the personnel behind the customer service desk, but nothing ever happens, and I am never offered a working cart after I explain my concern. I am left to leave almost empty handed versus making my big purchases because I cannot push a broken cart with the amount of items I need to purchase. The butcher case is leaking condensation onto the seafood from the refrigeration unit where it is also peeling paint. Last week I couldn’t get service for a prime rib because they ran out of seasoning, they told me to buy seasoning! They are a grocery store and butcher, they should have the means to replace their missing items they need for their butcher service. Their online fulfillment employees are constantly in the way, no manners of waiting their turn to grab something, just pushing their way through customers, total entitlement mentality that they work there and we all have to make way for them and wait for them, rather than everyone taking turns reaching or moving around. They come in like bulldozers. This Safeway store & their cashiers are 5 Star! Clean, well stocked, fast cashiers, great value and a wide variety❤️ The downside though ….The shopping carts are 1 Star because they are all broken. I shop 2-3 times a week, and the wheels on every single cart are always broken. It has been like this for quite sometime. Safety gets 1 Star because the people in front of the entrance door asking for donations makes me turn my car around and go to another Safeway. I have had the people 6 inches from my face asking for donations, it is unsafe for so many reasons and have had to be escorted out before. I’ve avoided going when I see them outside, but even then when they aren’t there when entering, they appear when I am exiting. I feel very unsafe, especially since my broken shopping cart is full, sometimes I have kids with me, and the under utilized doors slow me down even more. The cart even locks up when going to my car. Another 1 Star safety issue is the entrance and exit doors are never fully utilized, even during daytime hours. This must be a fire code violation. I only shop from 8am-3pm weekdays, so locking half the doors shouldn’t be necessary. The capacity of people entering and exiting are bottle necked, also while trying to maneuver their broken carts, trying to make way for the opposite traffic, and it forces customers to have to wait their turn to get inside and get accosted by the donation people. If both entry and exit doors were utilized, it would be safer all around. There are no other fire exits in the large building, both doors should be utilized during daytime hours. (And why are high school football players asking for donations 6 inches from my face at this Safeway on school days during school hours? 🤨)
