Vons on Gaffey in San Pedro - always on the go! Busy spot, especially during school rush, but the self-checkout lanes are a lifesaver. Perfect for quick grabs, not so much for a full shop. Love their chicken and fruit ambrosia, and the chicken Caesar salad at the deli is a fave! Huge shoutout to the manager, who’s always going above and beyond to find and fit your needs - huge plus!

It may not mean much to most and may seem very trivial and petty but it is something that needs to be changed. WATERMELONS 🍉 ! im tired of wasting my money on unrippened watermelons from grocery stores and they're all guilty of it. Watermelons aren't supposed to be unsweet with a texture as firm as an apple when you bite into it they should be sweet with a flesh that dissolves in your mouth with little pressure using only your tongue. I refuse to purchase watermelon without first asking the store to cut it open first to check it used to be 20 % chance you get a good one now its 0% thats because unlike most other fruits watermelon does not ripen off the vine if you pick it early it will be unsweet tasteless and hard as an apple to eat. Ive got grandchildren that i want to enjoy this delicious fruit with when it is grown to maturity is sweet with a perfect texture that melts in your mouth. If we don't change this now the future will only serve a fruit nothing like what it truly is leaving this as an unwanted item and eventually unstocked item in stores. Vons isnt the only store with this problem every store ive visited in many states have the same problem. STOP trying to compete for first place at market in harvest time with immature unwanted product present customers with a mature delicious item that will be repurchased repeatedly unstead of sending 70% of your product to waste because buyers know what to expect currently. Bring back the watermelon we're used to eating years and years ago and give the new generations a taste of something superior to what sits on shelves today to waste. Thank you i hope some listens to me I've spoke about it for years and nothing has changed if you aren't happy with your product demand a refund maybe we'll find a change to a better product as we enjoyed in the past.

Best produce is town. Large selection of just about everything. The fried chicken is awesome, but their mango habanero chicken is to die for. Wings are excellent too. Staff is kinda lame. Talking amongst themselves or on their phones most of the time. Lines are always ridiculously long.

The store itself is fine, smaller, but a good selection and fresh products - HOWEVER - there's one cashier that has absolutely no business dealing with the public. It's Christmas, and they were open until 3pm. I ran in at 2:30pm to pick up a couple quick items (was out by 2:45pm). There were constant announcements (every couple of minutes) about the store closing at 3pm - which is fine, except these weren't "nice", they were crabby and one of the annoucments even said in a crabby tone "We want to spend time with our families too" - that started the bad taste in my mouth. What got 2 stars deducted, and left a VERY bad taste - as I was checking out in the self-checkout, the cashier next to the self checkout (an older lady with dark/reddish hair) was having a very loud (and she was being not nice) conversation with the two employees over in Self Checkout (who were wonderful, nice and friendly), trying to bullying them into locking the doors - RIGHT NOW! She literally said, very nastily and loud enough for everyone around to hear (the customer she's ringing up, the customers in her line, everyone in self checkout, etc...): "I'm leaving at 3:15. If you don't want to lock the doors now, they'll (referring to the CUSTOMERS) be here until 5, and you can stay and ring them up)." Way to make your customers feel appreciated and valued... I get it, working Christmas sucks, but that attitude toward your customers is unacceptable, and is a complete turn off. I've been a cashier, I've worked retail - and I NEVER would have done something like that in front of the customers. It really makes me want to take my business elsewhere.

Meat manager is incredibly unprofessional at communicating with customers. I asked one of the employees for help in finding chicken liver for my dogs. He said 'let me ask my manager.' The manager walks up to me and says 'nah, we dont have that in stock'. I couldnt even get his name because he had no name badge. I'm completely shocked of how unprofessional his response was. No suggestion for another item, just "nah, we don't have it" and he just walked away. This is why I prefer shopping at Ralph's.

Absolutely terrible grocery store. I have been shopping at this grocery store for over 30 years and it literally gets worse with every passing year. The customer service is absolutely terrible. They have absolutely no interest in being polite or helpful in any way shape or form. Reliably awful. Store is old and dark and dank. I cannot adequately emphasize how terrible the customer service is.

They provide excellent service in flower shop and in bakery with pre order cakes. The best Vons in San Pedro.
