NATIONAL FRESH SUPERMARKET

Save-A-Lot more like spend a lot. Security guards that sit on the table where I'm supposed to bag up my groceries that has a sign clearly marked no children are allowed to sit here. Most of the food here seems like damaged items or misproduction items that would not be sold in a normal grocery store. For instance I bought the crackle Klondike ice cream bars and to my surprise there was no crackle on them. This would not be an issue, but you were charging full price if not overpriced for items that should be discount items. Edit #1: bought seasoned chicken breast lunch meat on 1/13. Exasperation date was good but the meat was rancid and slimy. They did refund me for it. More proof they are selling under par food to inner City residents. Edit #2: surprise another defected item. Picture below of m&m's (This time discounted) taste is off in a bad way, like burnt or chemicals. Coloring is distorted as well.

"National Fresh Supermarkets" had recently taken over "SAVE-A-LOT". At the moment, the shelves/refrigerators/freezers are bare cuz they are still in the process of stacking/filling them, the store is bright and clean, cashiers are very polite/friendly...BUT... I went in today to purchase a 64oz berry flavored "Juicy Juice" & I was a bit shocked...it was $6.79!!! 😳 The girl at the REGISTER said "it costs that much because its 64oz..." Prices for 64oz Juicy Juice at other local stores: *Walmart: $3.94 *Giant: $3.99 *Price Rite: $3.99 *Redners: $4.49 *Target: $4.89 *Save-A-Lot: $4.99 *National Fresh Supermarkets: $6.79 So honestly, it is WAY over priced/OR maybe they are charging WIC prices possibly...and if so, u can just go to ANY of the MANY local bodegas in the area if u dont mind WAY overpaying. Anyway, this area of Reading is mostly low-incomed families...with this store raising the price "Juicy Juice" from $4.99 to $6.79 I dont even want to know what some of the other items will be raised too once they get fully settled in....ALL the neighborhood ppl could just go over to the Price Rite or drive to/or have groceries delivered from Walmart, Weis, Giant, Aldi, Redners, Grocery Outlet etc ...

It's An Alright Place To Get Some Household Items Or Some Things You Ran Out Of At Home ! Has Lost Value Overtime Because Of The Charging For Bags And The Prices , Well Let's Say You're Not Saving Alot , Might As Well Change The Name ... And The Meats Here Are Expired Or About To Be. Once You Break Open The Plastic And It Stinks You'll Know They Put A Fresh New Tag On Top Of The Old One ... Has Happened To Me That's Why I Don't Shop For Meat Here, Rather Go To Giants ! And 1 Cashier Here Is Crazy ...

Way better than most places...

Prices have gone up everywhere of course, but still here you can do the groceries purchase for the week, meat feels safely frozen and fresh, ( keeping in mind that is transported from who knows where) I don't mean farm fresh but FDA fresh ok, don't go in there thinking that you're going to stumble upon old uncle MacDonald... Lol

Good people that work there I must say but the only issue I have is, and I think 90% of all other customers can agree with me on this, is that when they're is a line at check out every day around the same time have more cashier's working or on call. Other than that well I'm not complaining.

Sunday December 24th 2023 Don't let anyone tell you the employees here aren't the friggin' best humans ever - seriously, angels sent from heaven. Got tape here last minute for Xmas wrapping, and they were so helpful & friendly. Thank you for saving the day!
