Y Maru Maru is a small Japanese market with a decent selection of unique Japanese snacks. It's cozy, clean, and easy to navigate the sections. The ramen section is small, but there are lots of options for chips, candy, and drinks. I like that new items are brought in, so there's something new every time you go. My favorite part about this market is the ice cream. I love the Hokkaido milk soft serve ice cream, and I recently went in to grab the new trending peach and mango shaped ice cream. The prices are a little higher than some other markets, but they have items I haven't seen anywhere else. I also really like the location.
Awesome selection of goods. Kewpie mayo !! Thank you! Great cold and frozen selection as well as great variety of rice! Really cool snack selection with great cold drinks ! The staff is really friendly! This place is awesome definitely give it a visit !
Nice new spot with a decent amount of items. Food, ceramics, rice makers, chopsticks, drinks, All Imported from Japan. Helpful staff and a rewards program. It’s pretty small inside but stocked full of stuff.
Geat Asian store with lots of choices. I especially enjoy the Baumkuchen.
I originally started going to this store to buy matcha powder. The price has been increasing—not because the product itself has become more expensive, but purely due to greed. Because of this, I will no longer be a customer. However, the real reason for this review is an incident that happened just a few days ago. I was walking across the crosswalk when two guys almost hit me with their car. When I called them out on it, both of them jumped out of the car—one clearly wanting to fight me, while the other stayed between us. If I had wanted to, I could have knocked them both out with a single kick, because who expects an insanely high kick to the head? As they stood there yelling, I pointed out the obvious: You just got out of your car, parked it in front of the store blocking traffic, just to fight me—yet, you’re not actually attacking me. This state is so liberal that I knew if I swung first, I’d be the one in trouble. Normally, if someone gets out of their car to fight, I’d slam their legs in with their own door for trying to hurt me. I can only imagine how unsafe people who can’t fight must feel in this city. Way to go, Providence. Now, back to the store. The real issue here is the redheaded employee who works there. Instead of calling the cops or recording the incident, she actually sided with these two wannabe gangsters. She kept telling me, a paying customer, not to fight in front of her store—as if I was just supposed to let people almost hit me with their car, get out to confront me, and walk away so they could attack me from behind? She said several things, but I couldn’t make them all out. What was clear, though, was that she took their side. Who knows—maybe she has a thing for trash. Most liberals do. All I know is that they won’t be getting my money or support anymore. I talk to a lot of people, and every chance I get, I’ll persuade others not to shop there. In fact, five of my friends just heard what happened and have already agreed not to spend their money at this establishment. I also called the store to speak with the redheaded employee, but no one answered. I left a message, and unsurprisingly, no one called me back. Very disappointing and unprofessional. Like most businesses that try to open here but fail, I hope this one has a short-lived run. Here’s a picture of how I view there store and everything about their company that comes out my Mouth will be how much trash they’re .
Great little store. Fun selection of Japanese food and snacks. Lots of mochi.
I've made delivery snack orders from Y Maru Maru at least once a week over the past few weeks and each time they've provided awesome service. Even when an item is out of stock, they provide a great substitution, and always include a nice note in the bag of what was substituted, why they think it's good, and some candies to go along with it!
