Siam Grocery Warehouse

Tonight was my first trip here. The people are friendly and helpful. They don't carry one of the items I was looking for, but will order for me. They fry fish there also, but I didn't make it in time. I did find some Ackee and Callalloo. I had tried their salted seaweed chips and boy do they stink when you first open the bag but they were yummy. I also bought Butter Cream Chocolate Crackers to try and they are very light and tasty.

UPdate: The fried seafood is delicious. I love the oysters. The fried cat fish is so fresh. If you're in the area try Combo #5. This place has everything you need to make a great meal. Great prices.

Okay so my review will be for their fish market/ fried fish. To start off, this will be my 2nd time trying them as of today. I think it may be my last. As far as the food goes, the cornmeal shrimp is pretty good. I asked for extra seasoning, however I think they just stuck to their "mix" and did nothing different, as it tasted as if they poured a packaged mix and did not season the shrimp itself, or at least add more seasoning to the prepackage... However that's just my speculation. I also tried their other fried shrimp. That I could see they clearly seasoned, however the shrimp was rubbery in a way that was unpleasant. I also tried their fried whiting my first visit... It was alright, but I would still travel to LA. My biggest issue with them is their lack of customer service skills. Besides the unnecessary traffic they create in this tiny space by having you order your food at the back, going to the cash register to pay, and then having you go back to the the person who took your order to give them the receipt, they are not very mindful of their customers. The wait time is insane when you talk about a product that has a safe food temperature window that is already limited. However they only have 1 person both prepping and cooking. And the staff does not communicate well with the customers. After having met "Siam" himself today (or so he said), I think the problem starts at the head. As a manager, it is important to make sure you make repeat customers, and taking accountability for the actions of your staff, as well as creating a more consistent and orderly environment would be a great start. Oh, and seasoning the food would also help too!! Lol

PLEASE KEEP CONSISTENTLY..when I Order silver noodle salad in the evening it's done perfectly but for whatever reason whoever prepared it during the lunch hour continues to overdo it with onions & peppers even though it's supposed to be mild... Day crew charged extra to add peanuts when the dish is made with peanuts at night (the correct recipe ingredients)...I was hoping it be done right but it wasn't the best... This is ny favorite restaurant and I wanted to give a goid report but maybe next time

Great customer service and wide selection of Asian ingredients from Thai to Filipino. They have fresh fish ready for frying. Also they have filtered water station.

Best place for oriental type foods ,spices ,rices ,noodles vegetables,and a very fresh selection of fish in the back. Preped to order or fried 👌👌👌👌
